Principal's Message

Dear Miramonte Community,

CAASPP Smarter Balanced Assessment testing for all 11th-grade students begins next week. This important state assessment provides valuable insights into our students’ academic progress, helping faculty, administration, district staff, the Governing Board, parents, and community members understand their achievements and areas for growth. The results also guide teachers in refining their instruction and curriculum to ensure every student stays on track for future academic success. Additionally, this data plays a critical role in shaping staffing, budgeting, and programming decisions.

Our school's overall CAASPP scores contribute to our School Profile, a key document reviewed by college admissions officers and various organizations. Miramonte consistently ranks among the top-performing schools in the district and state, and our strong profile enhances students' opportunities as they apply to colleges and programs after high school.

To help ensure your student’s success during testing, here are some ways you can provide support at home:

  • Emphasize the importance of the tests. Talk with your child about how a strong School Profile benefits them and their peers, reinforcing the value of doing their best.
  • Remind them they are prepared. Our students have worked hard and are well-equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Practice tests have provided a solid foundation, so they should feel confident in their abilities.
  • Encourage strong attendance. Consistent attendance is essential to academic success throughout the year, and it’s especially important during testing.
  • Promote healthy habits. Make sure your student gets enough sleep and takes advantage of the free breakfast available in the cafeteria before school starts.
  • Maintain a positive mindset. Encourage your student to approach the tests with confidence, focus, and a commitment to doing their best on every question.

CAASPP Testing Schedule:

  • Math: March 18th–21st
  • English: March 25th–28th
  • Science: April 7th–11th

Thank you for your support, and Go Mats!

Have a great weekend and Go Mats!

Parents' Club Message

Happy Friday Miramonte Families,

Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful and relaxing three-day weekend!

As you enjoy the break, don’t forget to grab your tickets for next week’s Advanced Drama Senior Honors Performances. Our talented students have created an exciting lineup of original short plays—everything from suspenseful mysteries to thought-provoking dramas to laugh-out-loud comedies. It’s all student-produced, with our amazing stagecraft students designing incredible sets, lighting, and production. The show, Insult to Injury, runs March 18-21 at 7:00 p.m. in the MHS Theater. Be sure to reserve your tickets!

Also, please remind your students to cheer on our Unified Basketball Team as they take on Acalanes next Wednesday, March 19. The game will be in the Big Gym at lunch, and it would be awesome to see a big crowd there showing their support! GO MATS!

Don't miss our next Parent Club meeting right after spring break. Join us on Wednesday, April 16, at 11:15 a.m. in the Student Union to hear from our Associate Superintendent, John Walker, as he shares insights on AI in education and provides an important update on our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). ONE-Miramonte Fundraising

We need your help!

We haven’t met our fundraising goal for the year yet.

Only 55% of Miramonte families have made a donation of any size to ONE-Miramonte.

Every student benefits from the academic classes and programs that gifts to ONE-Miramonte help fund. Click on our budget below for all the details, but in addition to funding 19 extra class sections at Miramonte, all classes receive supplemental funding for classroom materials and supplies from parent donations. Visual and performing arts classes also receive support from our budget. ONE-Miramonte funds extra staff hours in our unparalleled College & Career Center, provides for a fully-staffed Wellness Center, and helps fund popular academic programs, such as The Mirador, Link Crew, Public Speaking and Latin, among many more.

If you’re wondering if your student benefits from donations to ONE-Miramonte the answer is a resounding YES! That’s why we aim for 100% participation.

Today is a great day to join your friends and neighbors in supporting our school by making a donation to ONE-Miramonte!

On Monday, March 24, Miramonte High School is hosting a blood drive with the Stanford Blood Donation Center. This event is open to students who are over the age of 16 and their parents, providing them with the opportunity to contribute to a life-saving cause by donating blood. Students aged 16 will need to fill out a consent form with parent permission. Other students 17 and older do not require a consent form. All participants under 18 need to meet height and weight requirements linked below. The donated blood will be utilized in hospitals across the bay area, where the blood will be used for transfusions. The blood donated by Miramonte students and parents will directly support patients in need of transfusions for various medical conditions, including serious injuries, surgeries, childbirth, anemia, blood disorders, and cancer treatments. By participating in the blood drive, students and their families can make an immediate difference in the lives of those requiring critical medical care. The event will take place in the main gym from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and we strongly encourage everyone to participate and contribute to this vital cause. Everyone who donates blood gets a $15 giftcard to the store of their choice, as well as being entered into a raffle with the chance to win Club Suite tickets to the Warriors. Your involvement will help Miramonte High School create a meaningful and positive impact on the community.
