As I walk across campus, it's clear that the excitement is building in anticipation of the pool opening next week. We are on schedule for an October 5 opening when we can start to use this beautiful facility again. There is always something exciting happening at Miramonte!
LatinX Heritage Festival
The LatinX Heritage Festival is Tuesday, October 6. Come join us for a night of community and celebration as our students come together to honor LatinX heritage. The event is sponsored by student leadership and the equity committee. This year the event will be in the large gym and the quad. There will be a food truck, a live band, and lots of dancing-- it should be fun! The festival starts at 5:30 p.m.
Fall Music Concert
The music program is working hard preparing for their annual fall concert. This year's concert is October 8 in our Theater and starts at 7 p.m. Performances from the Choir, the Jazz Band, and the Orchestra will showcase the talented students at MHS. Tickets are $5 for adults, but free for all students.
Quarter One Ends October 9
Friday, October 9 is the end of quarter one. This is an important time to check in with your students and ensure that they are caught up in all of their classes. There is also a good chance that classes will have assessments next week so students should be focused on studying in preparation for those important exams.
Campo Home Football October 9
The fall sports season has been an exciting one in all of our fall sports. Our athletes are working hard and having great success across the board. One of the most exciting moments of the fall happens next Friday at our place. It's time for the Miramonte versus Campolindo football game! We would love to have a huge crowd to cheer on our team as they strive to break the streak!
Speech and Debate
Our nationally dominant Speech and Debate Team hosted an important season-opening competition all day last Saturday as part of the Golden Gate Speech Association. There were over 600 students in attendance from schools throughout the region. It was a massive success and our kids took home major awards once again! We had more than 60 Mats competing and they earned dozens of trophies at both the novice and varsity levels. Over 150 Mats families were involved in supporting this incredible event. Congratulations to our speakers and debaters!
Go Mats!

Happy Friday Matadors!
Please join us for our next Miramonte Parents’ Club meeting on Friday, October 16, from 9:00-10:15 a.m. in the Library. In addition to PC updates, we will be joined by Principal Bill Schloss and AUHSD Associate Superintendent of Educational Services, John Walker. They will be sharing important insights from the latest Challenge Success data specific to our Miramonte students- including what the results tell us about their experiences at school and ways we, as parents and a school community, can best support them.
This is such a valuable opportunity to hear directly from our school and district leadership, learn more about what our students are telling us, and better understand how we can support their success and well-being. All parents and guardians are welcome, and we hope you’ll join us!
Stay up to date with all Parents' Club activities by visiting our website. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Christina Linezo
Chair MHS Parents' Club

Check Out Miramonte's News Weight Room
Miramonte's newly renovated weight room is open and being used by PE classes and athletes across more than 20 athletic programs. The renovation included new flooring, paint and fitness equipment. Boosters helped lead the project, with significant support from the Miramonte community, including a $125,000 anonymous donation. There is still more work to do. Boosters is raising funds for additional equipment to finish out the space and make it work for as many Miramonte students and teams as possible.
If you weren't able to stop by the open house during Homecoming, take a look the next time you're on campus.
