Helping Everyday Heroes Restore Their Power
and Find Peace of Mind.
Spring 2023 Newsletter
You may have noticed March 20th is our new official day for the first day of Spring. Traditionally, we have celebrated Spring on March 21st, but astronomers now say in all time zones, it will be on the 20th. In Middle TN and Southern KY sometimes we have to wonder, 20th or 21st... should we prepare for a tornado or a snowstorm? Although the weather is unpredictable, one thing remains the same. At Matt Hardin Law, we are thinking about you and wishing you well. We're here when you need us. Give us a call or drop us a line and let us know how you are.

Latest News & Updates

It's our Anniversary!

Ten years ago Matt decided it was time to hang a shingle. He opened our first office in Nashville with a briefcase and a paralegal.
That seems like a lifetime ago!

A decade has flown by as we've built a team of legal professionals, opened six offices, and developed relationships with thousands of you across Middle TN and Southern Kentucky.

While managing a growing firm, Matt and Janet have also added three beautiful children to their family, ages 10, 8, and 5. Talk about being busy! We rarely see the older ones, but we do have an occasional visit from their youngest, Vivi, who brings an overload of cuteness running up and down the halls delivering her latest artwork!

"It truly feels like family around here with so many of us
who have been here for over half of the past 10 years."
-Paralegal, Beverly Washington

As we pause to celebrate this milestone, we have been reflecting back on all of the heroes we've met along the way. We could write a book filled with your stories of strife and triumph. Stories about courage, hope, and healing. Stories about overcoming adversity that you weren't prepared for. Stories about keeping life together in the middle of chaos and crisis. Our clients are truly remarkable.

Some of you may remember in 1995 when Christopher Reeve, the original Superman was in an accident that changed his life forever. He said, "a hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."

Just like you, Christopher pressed on and his heroic journey became bigger than anything Superman could have ever imagined.

This year we celebrate us, and we celebrate you.

* Throughout the year we will be adding client stories and testimonies to a new section on our website called, Hardin's Heroes. It would be our highest honor to share your story. You don't have to be a first responder or someone on the front lines. Hardin's Heroes are everywhere. If you would like to share your story, please email community@matthardinlaw.com.

Words of Wisdom

Are You Burning the Candle at Both Ends?

Attorney Michael Kilgore knows a thing or two about maintaining a healthy work/life balance. He and his wife Kristen were married the same year that he started practicing law 14 years ago. Together they have figured out how to manage careers and family time. Michael shares some powerful advice for those of us who may be burning the candle at both ends.

Work/Life Balance…

It doesn’t naturally happen. It requires effort, but the people in this picture deserve it. I deserve it and so do you!

Two years ago I realized there was a recreational center with a pool within walking distance from my office.

I am there at 6 am every weekday morning.

Do I want to be? No. Would I rather get that extra hour of sleep? Yes
But I feel better and I am one step closer to achieving more balance in my life.

Setting healthy boundaries is a must.

When the demands of work push in on personal boundaries, challenge yourself and push back.

Find the time somewhere else. You may have to lose an hour of sleep.
So be it.

And when a personal need pushes in on your most productive work hours, be innovative and figure out a plan.

My clients are important, but so are Nashville Symphony concerts and family time!

Not one inch of encroachment. Not today.

The thing you want to do but can’t find the time for, it starts today.

15 minutes to get it started.

Beware! “Full coverage” means different things to different people! When examining your auto insurance coverage, it is best to make sure you have as much uninsured motorist coverage as you can afford, in addition to liability, collision, and medical payments. Your insurance company may have adverse motives when selling you insurance, so it is important that you understand what types of coverage actually make you “fully covered.”
