The Buffalo Office of Chicago Title is once again making headlines this summer with another fantastic hire in the Title Insurance Department. Matthew Palmieri, Esq. has joined Chicago Title as Underwriting Counsel where he will step in to a familiar role.
For the past ten years, Matt has been employed as an attorney with Lippes Mathias, LLP, most recently as a partner in the Real Estate and Banking/Financial Transactions groups. There he was the head of both the Residential Real Estate and Title Insurance Committees.
Throughout his career, Matt has been an Examining Counsel for Chicago Title and has had the privilege to work alongside and learn from some of the best attorneys in the industry. Matt has handled a wide variety of matters in the fields of commercial real estate, including transactions involving the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and exchange of commercial real estate, real estate title and low-income housing tax credit transaction. Additionally, with his experience as counsel to various national and local lending institutions, Matt brings a unique perspective on how to finance challenging real estate projects, particularly in the area of title insurance. Matt is often hired by lending institutions to develop finance models for real estate transactions that utilize complex structures and tax savings to clients.
Matt graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 2011 and earned his Bachelor's of Science from St. John Fisher University in 2008. Matt is a member of both the New York State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Erie County, where he is a member of the Real Property Law Committee. He is admitted to practice in New York State.
From 2015 to 2021, Matt has been recognized as an Upstate New York SuperLawyers Rising Star. Outside the office, Matt has donated his time to the Volunteer Lawyers Project, was a former volunteer firefighter, a student mentor for Bennett High School and Vice President for Architect for Kids, Inc.
