VALUABLE HIGHLIGHTS
3 KEY CONSIDERATIONS
- What time of year are you thinking of selling?
Market conditions can vary with the seasons. Each season has it's pros and cons: more competition, weather, etc.
What are your reasons, and what is your ultimate goal? Are you downsizing, needing to move for health reasons or to be near family? This may impact your timeline, and the choices you make regarding remodeling and repairs you decide to do.
- What are the unique features and benefits of your home?
Is your home located in a great neighborhood, or near desirable amenities? Does it offer sought after features and benefits enhancing daily living? Showcasing these can help transform your home from just another listing... into exactly the space your ideal buyer is looking for.
5 KEY STEPS TO PREPARE YOUR HOME FOR SALE
-
Pre-Planning: This includes defining your budget, compiling a list of repairs and deciding whether you want to conduct a pre-inspection.
-
Budget: Items on this list will include costs for elective inspections, cosmetic work such as painting and carpet cleaning, and deferred maintenance.
-
Inspections: You may choose to have a general home inspection done before selling, which offers insight on the overall condition of your home. We reviewed typical issues called out from an inspection and which are more costly and considered health and safety concerns.
-
Remodel or Not To Remodel: While remodeling is often touted as a way to increase home value, there are a number of reasons -and alternatives- to consider before deciding whether remodeling is the wisest, or most cost-effective choice for you... including the physical and emotional upheaval of living through a remodel and your timeline for selling.
-
Curb Appeal: First impressions matter most - whether on a date or looking for a home. Making sure that the home exterior is in good condition, the yard nicely landscaped, and the area walking up to the front door is welcoming.

The selling price of your home depends on a number of factors. Online sites will tease you with pricing that are created by algorithms. An onsite home valuation consultation is the only way to determine the true market value of your home.
-
Remodeling is an option, but not necessarily the best or most cost-effective. Every home sale is unique.
-
You are hiring a professional Realtor for a reason - insight, years of experience, how to prepare your home, knowing how to navigate to a successful close, , etc. Know that as 'The Seller', you always have the final say about all decisions related to the sale of your home.
