The City of Miami Beach is constructing a non-motorized floating dock south of the marine patrol dock at Maurice Gibb Park. The project will enhance the recreational opportunities at Maurice Gibb Park and access to Biscayne Bay while improving safety for users of non-motorized vessels, such as kayaks and paddleboards.
Project Overview and Benefits
This project includes the construction of the concrete floating dock and ramp; stairs to access the ramp and the installation of new signage. Creating an access point to Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve and the intracoastal waterway, the project is listed in City’s Blueways Master Plan.
The launch will be free of charge, open to the public and accessible to hundreds of thousands of visitors annually

Beginning Wednesday April 15, the City of Miami Beach will begin the construction of a non-motorized floating dock south of the marine patrol dock at Maurice Gibb Park. Staging and parking for the project will be set up behind the marine patrol building and the parking lot respectively.
Please heed all signage.
Timeline
This project is expected to last for approximately five months. Work hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; extended time is subject to city approval and community notification.
