Understanding the immense value and impact of girls’ and women’s flag football, the Club has made its advocacy of the sport a defining priority.
Since introducing the Girls National Flag Football Player of the Year award, MFC has partnered with NFL clubs across the country to identify and honor the sport's rising stars, while its regional Mini Max Awards have recognized dozens of young women pioneering the game at the high school level.
Motivated by flag’s rapid expansion across college campuses and its most recent designation as an official NCAA Emerging Sport for Women, the MFC’s newest award furthers the organization’s commitment to the game and the athletes at the forefront of its growth.
Founded in 1935, the Maxwell Football Club is the oldest football organization of its kind in America. Best known for presenting some of the sport's most iconic individual honors, including the Maxwell Award (College Player of the Year), the Chuck Bednarik Award (Outstanding College Defensive Player), and the Bert Bell Award (Outstanding Professional Player).
The Club has long stood at the intersection of tradition and progress in football, recognizing excellence at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels while investing deeply in the communities that support the game.
