With the great summertime weather we are having, we hope you are out playing golf! This is also the time of year to plan your vacation getaways and the annual buddies’ trip. With venues starting to open up, now is the time to start planning your trips!
With Memorial Weekend ahead of us, let us all give thanks to those who served and who may be away from loved ones. The Evans Scholars Invitational presented by First Midwest Bank is the perfect start to the Memorial Day holiday with competition beginning on May 27 through May 30 at The Glen Club in Glenview, IL. General admission is complimentary thanks to SERVPRO of Glenview, and upgraded tickets are still available for purchase as well.
The excitement is ramping up as several qualifiers took place on Monday of this week to determine the final open spots that make up the 156-player tournament. Fan favorites featured in the 156-player field are three of the top five players in the Korn Ferry Tour’s season-long standings: Stephan Jaeger, Taylor Pendrith and Davis Riley. The top 25 players at the end of the Korn Ferry Tour’s combined 2020-21 season will earn PGA TOUR cards.
Several players with ties to the Chicago area are in this week’s field, including Nick Hardy (Northbrook), Vince India (Deerfield), Brad Hopfinger (Lake Forest), Andy Pope (Glen Ellyn), Patrick Flavin (Highland Park) and Joe Zawaski (Northfield). Hardy, No. 14 in the Korn Ferry Tour standings, finished fourth at last week’s AdventHealth Championship in Kansas City, Missouri. Hopfinger enters the week at No. 45, India is No. 56 and Pope is No. 96. Visit www.esinvitational.com for a list of current players and starting tee times.

For the first-time ever, Patriot Golf Days is being held over Memorial Day weekend. It’s a partnership between Folds of Honor and the PGA of America that helps both veterans and their dependents. This is the 15th time it will be played, and since its inception it’s provided over 10,000 academic scholarships worth about $50 million to the spouses and children of disabled or fallen service members.

Heritage Glen Golf Club in Paw Paw, Michigan is a course you can drive up to in a day and go home the same day. It’s an easy drive and it’s one of the most playable courses for men, women and golfers of all levels. It’s one of our favorites and we know it will become one of yours as well!
