In the month of May, we had 1,282 visits to the food pantry and provided 38,290 meals worth of food to our neighbors in need. Out of those meals, 15,299 were to children in our community.

This May was our busiest May ever and busier than any month last year. Thanks to loving neighbors like YOU, we are able to provide food, essential items, and most importantly a friendly place to turn to in a time of need!

We are committed to ensuring everyone in our community has enough to eat and has access to the most nutritious food. Thanks to you, and all our generous donors and partners, we have been able to keep providing for all that come to us.

Families are really struggling to make ends meet, and we are so proud to be able to ensure no one will go hungry in our community! To date, we have served 219,365 meals this year. That is more meals than what we had provided for the entire year in 2020, through the pandemic food crisis.

Each summer we provide an extra 15,000 meals to local children, in addition to the regular 3 bags of groceries that we give to their families each week. The food we are able to offer is dependent on community support.

Make a donation to help us ensure no one in our community goes hungry!

Our Assistance Program serves local children, adults, and families with a wide range of support. We are happy to see that many of our customers have started getting more hours at work now that summer is almost here, but if they fall on hard times we will be here.

Here are but a few examples of what support our Assistance Program provided in the past month:

  • Helped a student purchase a passport so they could participate in a school trip abroad
  • Paid for an auto repair for a single mom
  • Purchased comfortable clothing for a client with cancer
  • Paid for a PO Box for a homeless person
  • Provided a scholarship for 4 high school students to attend a HUGS retreat
  • Arranged for lawn mowing for a disabled senior who lives alone
  • Set up medical rides for a senior with cancer

We are able to be a crucial safety net thanks to donors like you.

HELP SOMEONE IN NEED

Want to get involved? We would love to have student and adult volunteers helping this summer. Fill out a volunteer application here.

Did you know that over 50% of local students depend on free and reduced-price school breakfast and lunch? Our schools are considered high-poverty districts. When school is not in session, many parents rely on us to feed their families.

In the past year, we provided 189,148 meals worth of food to children in our community. As part of Lunchbox Kids, this summer we will offer a new program, Lunch and Learning. Kids will come to enjoy a healthy meal and take part in a fun enrichment program. Any family that attends will also receive additional healthy groceries for children and their working parents. Support our our annual Lunchbox Kids fundraiser to ensure no child goes hungry this summer!

Will you join us in giving local children great nutritious food and a fun healthy summer?

Monetary donations directly help us to feed our neighbors in need. Donate here!

2. Are you accepting food or clothing donations?

We are almost ready to move to our new location at 44 Meetinghouse Lane. Please reach out to us to see when we are ready to receive donations again.

3. Do you need volunteers?

Yes! Please sign up on our website here

4. How does one register for the food pantry?

One can register ahead by calling our office (631-283-6415) to speak with our bilingual staff. New customers are welcome to visit during food pantry hours- Wednesdays and Fridays from 10AM-12PM. Upon arrival, they will be asked to fill out a registration form and provide valid identification. This form is used solely for reporting numbers to the food bank, so we receive enough food to feed our customers.

Our mission is simple - to help people in our local community who are in need with dignity and without discrimination. For the past 44 years, we've been able to do that together. We thank you!
