Summer and Sunscreen Tips
As we start getting into the Spring and Summer seasons, it is crucial that we make sure we are protecting our bodies from the sun. This means using sunscreen to protect our skin from the sun's ultraviolet rays. This will prevent skin cancer, as well as that painful sunburn that hurts every time you move. There are so many different types of sunscreen, and it is so hard to figure out which one is the best for you. So, I am here to help you decide what sunscreen to buy, and use throughout the season.
To start if off, there are a few factors that will help narrow these different sunscreens down for you.
- The first thing that you should look for in sunscreen is one that protects you from not only UVA (Ultraviolet A) but also, UVB (Ultra violet B). These rays can harm you in so many ways, so make sure your sunscreen prevents these things from harming you.
- The second factor is, the SPF of your sunscreen. The SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of your sunscreen is important for you, in that this will determine how long your skin will be protected in the sun. The higher the number the longer it will protect your skin. Doctors recommend that the SPF of your sunscreen should always be at least 30. What I usually do when I go to the beach, is start off with a higher number, like 50, and use that the first day or two, to get my skin adjusted to the sun, and then work my way down, but never less than 30.
- The third factor is that the sunscreen should be water resistant. If your sunscreen isn't water resistant, once you enter the water at the beach or pool, the sunscreen will wear off your body and you will not have any protection from the sun.
These three factors will help you narrow down the thousands of different sunscreens you see in the store, so you can pick the best sunscreen for you.

Prep Time10 min
Instructions
- Blend the pecans and the almonds in a food processor until they are fine.
- Then mix in the dates.
- The nuts will release their natural oils so there is no need for water. If yours looks a bit dry, you can add a tiny amount, but I didn't have to.
- Line an 8X8 pan with parchment ,
- leaving enough room for some paper to stick out the sides.
- Press the dough evenly into the pan.
- Once it's spread out, use the extra paper to press the dough down with your palms so it's packed well.
- Stick in the fridge to firm up. About 2 hours should be good.
- Once it's chilled, cut into squares with a pizza cutter .
