Understanding the Threats of Wildfires in Green Valley and the Vicinity
When: Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 1 PM
Where: OLLI-UA Green Valley Campus - Community Learning Center Room 203, 1250 W. Continental Road, Green Valley, AZ (same location as CPAC).
What: L.T. Pratt Community Outreach / Public Information Officer from the Santa Rita Fire District will take us through what we need to do in the event of a wildland fire here in the Green Valley area, how to protect our homes and animals.
Open to all. No registration required.

Next Green Valley Rally is on Saturday, May 3, 2025!
NOTE: Earlier Time--9am-10am

Join concerned residents from around the region for a Rally for the Santa Ritas. The gathering will bring together residents, environmental advocates, and regional leaders in a show of public opposition to the Copper World mining project, as well as the devastation caused by the unchecked power of the mining industry in Arizona. We will urge our representatives to take a stand against harmful mining operations in Southern Arizona.

Poll Watchers Needed
Poll watchers are needed for the Special Primary Election on July 15 and the Special General Election on September 23. These special elections are being held to fill the CD7 seat which is vacant due to the death of Congressman Raúl Grijalva.

WE CARE Campaign in May:
SAMU First Response
We will collect for the SAMU First Response whose Arizona program grew out of former Casa Alitas volunteers. They serve both the vulnerable in Tucson and Nogales, including the unhoused community, hospice, the elderly and young families. Their greatest needs at this time are:
- Adult diapers, sizes L and XL
- Children’s diapers, size 4 and up
- Underpants
- Ensure or similar protein drinks
- Baby formula
- Hygiene items, any kind
They also are happy to receive clean clothing.
Bring your items to the wagon at Headquarters or to any program meeting.
