Community eNews | May 10, 2026 | | Last week, the Class of 2026 celebrated Decision Day with College Counseling and wore their college shirts to school. See more photos of the celebration on SmugMug! Congratulations, Seniors! | | A Message from the Principal of Student Life and Mission: | |
Dear Carondelet Community,
May is when spring starts warming up, and everyone starts looking forward to summer rest and play. For Carondelet, May is also a month of celebration as we acknowledge and commemorate the culmination of the Class of 2026’s four high school years. All of our students are also putting last touches on final projects, and reviewing for final exams. While tests and projects can be stressful at this time of year, it’s also an opportunity for students to show all the learning, growth, and community building earned through effort, engagement, curiosity, and love.
This week, the Class of 2026 will celebrate their last eucharistic celebration together at Baccalaureate, and will walk across the Toyota Pavilion stage next Sunday, marking a transition from teen life to young adulthood. Each of these foundational, beloved events uphold the faith that gathers our community together, the heart that students have grown and shown through their relationships and service, the courage expressed through the many ways they have been leaders, and the excellence of doing the work to become the wonderful young women who will go out and make a difference in the world.
We are so proud of you, Class of 2026!
Blessings,
Jennifer Reinwald
Principal of Student Life and Mission

Attendance & Safety Updates: Early Outs & Late Arrivals
We want to remind our school community of our expectations regarding student attendance and early dismissals. Students are expected to remain on campus for all scheduled classes and events throughout the school day. Early dismissals, late arrivals, and absences should be reserved for extenuating circumstances or appointments that cannot be scheduled outside of school hours.
Additionally, our campus is closed during the school day. Recently, we have seen an increase in requests for students to leave campus for lunch. Please note that early dismissals for lunch will only be granted in one-off emergency situations. These are not intended for students to routinely leave campus to pick up lunch or run errands.
We appreciate your support in ensuring that students remain engaged in their learning for the full school day. If you have any questions, please contact the Attendance Office.

-
Parents and Guardians, please take a moment to complete the Parent Survey in Maia. Your input is very helpful when College Counselors write letters of recommendation for your child. If you can’t remember how to log in, click Forgot Password and follow the prompts.
-
You can still sign up for the next session of College Kickstart, June 1–4. Students will work on college essays, the Common Application, and UC Personal Insight Questions. Learn more and register here. If the fee is a concern, please reach out to your College Counselor.
-
Registration is now live for all 2026–27 ACT test dates. This is a great time to map out a testing timeline and secure early fall dates for college applications. View the full schedule here.
Sophomores & Juniors:
- The University of Pennsylvania shared some reminders if you are visiting colleges this summer:
-
Book early. Visit calendars tend to fill quickly, so students should check institutional websites now and secure spots as soon as schedules are available.
-
Be intentional. Encourage students to reflect on why they are visiting a particular campus. Are they hoping to get a first impression? Compare options? Speak with current students or faculty? A clear purpose helps them engage more thoughtfully.
-
Prepare questions in advance. Students may feel unsure about what to ask during a visit. Coming prepared with a few questions can help them feel more confident and ensure they gather the information most relevant to them.
-
Take notes. After several visits, details can blend together. Writing down impressions, highlights, and questions can make it easier to reflect later.
-
Explore virtual options. For students who are unable to travel, many institutions offer virtual information sessions and campus tours.
Carondelet shares these opportunities for informational purposes only. We do not affiliate with or endorse any particular organizations.
