US Department of Education Releases Covid-19 Handbook

The US Department of Education has released the "ED COVID-19 HANDBOOK: Roadmap to Reopening Safely and Meeting All Students’ Needs." This second volume looks at creating safe and healthy learning environments, addressing lost instructional time, and supporting educator and staff stability and well-being.
Registration Closing Today at 4pm! Developing Emergency Operations Plans K-12 101 Train-the-Trainer class on May 13th via Zoom

This is the last chance to register for the Developing Emergency Operations Plans K-12 Train-the-Trainer class on May 13th from 9:00 am to noon, via Zoom. Registration closes today at 4pm CST. This training is for potential master trainers from K-12 schools and districts responsible for training site-based planning teams interested in creating, revising, or enhancing school EOPs; school staff who serve, or will serve, on their school or school district’s EOP planning team; and other interested community stakeholders, including first responders, emergency medical services personnel, law enforcement, and others. There's Still Time to Register: Digital Threat Assessment class
on May 20th via Zoom

The Illinois School and Campus Safety Program is pleased to announce that a session of the "Digital Threat Assessment" training through Safer Schools Together will be held on May 20, 2021, via Zoom. The goal of the Digital Threat Assessment class is to give attendees a stronger understanding of the current social media world, provide tools to be able to proactively identify student safety concerns, and provide strategies for dealing with online situations as they arise. Advanced Digital Threat Assessment class
on June 8th via Zoom

The Illinois School and Campus Safety Program is pleased to announce that a session of the "Advanced Digital Threat Assessment" training through Safer Schools Together will be held on June 8, 2021, via Zoom. Building upon the Digital Threat Assessment class, this class will leave participants with a concrete understanding of how to find and curate relevant digital information as is typically represented in a real-life digital threat assessment data gathering scenario.
