Focus on Student Learning

Writer's Cafe
Mr. Smith's second grade authors hosted a Writers' Cafe  on Friday .  The children read excerpts of their writing from the year, to a delighted audience of siblings, parents and guests.  Afterwards, students stood by and showed off their Writing Portfolios, containing all their published writing pieces from the school year.  It was a great display on how much writing growth happens in second grade at Peabody!

Graduation and Promotion

Can you believe that the end of school is less than a month away! We look forward to a special day on  Friday, June 9th as we both honor our graduates and celebrate the end of a another wonderful year.

Here are some details of the day:

The  graduation and awards ceremony for 8th graders and Middle School award winners will take place in the Batten gym. Seating will start at  8:30AM and the ceremony will start at  9:00AM and last approximately an hour. Starting this year, the entire student body will be present to honor our 8th graders. Due to limited seating,  this event is only attended by students, Grade 8 parents, their guests, and parents of award winners.

Starting at  10:30AM, we will also hold a promotion ceremony for the rest of our students, also in the Batten gym. This ceremony will be followed by classroom celebrations in your student's homeroom. There will be more information to come about that piece.  All our welcome to this ceremony.

We are currently working on a parking plan and some other smaller details which will be shared when finalized.

We look forward to a wonderful morning! Please contact Rob Orlando if you have any questions.

This is not a drop off event. As the mosaic is getting higher we need older students, for these two dates, only students from 2nd grade and older. Children should be accompanied by adults. Bring snacks to sustain our mosaic making energy.
