Welcoming the CRSJ Class of 2026!
We extend a warm welcome to our Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High Class of 2026! We are excited for these bright, curious and hard-working students to become a part of our Lion Pride. These soon-to-be young professionals will be meeting each other and learning about the school in next week's Freshman Orientation. Thank you to the Admissions, Academics, and Corporate Work Study teams for all their hard work recruiting this class. And we are grateful to our current students and families for spreading the word on our great school!
A Summer Coding Camp Opportunity
Bill.com VP Salvador Chavez inspires 9th, 10th, and 11th grade Cristo Rey students
during a lunchtime talk.
Sal Chavez (Chava), VP of Engineering at Bill.com visited campus to talk about an exciting opportunity—a summer coding camp—that he and his team will be offering to 20 students. The program begins on June 27th and ends on July 29th. The workshop will take place daily for half-day sessions to give students the flexibility to take on summer jobs. Students who attend will have access to computing tools needed to learn how to program applications for smartphones.

Bill.com kicked off their Cristo Rey San José Corporate Work Study Relationship with four student placements for the 2021-22 school year. As a new partner, Chava championed the partnership between CWSP and Bill.com. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Bill.com team for their help in our mission to offer career exploration opportunities to our students!
Cristo Rey Celebrates Earth Day
Left to Right: Anahi E., student at Cristo Rey, Brian Yi, Director of Investments, Michael Van Every, CEO, Jackson Thompson, Intern, Republic Urban Properties
For Earth Day 2022, our student-led environmental club, Green Haven, partnered with Republic Urban Properties as part of their "Republic Cares" social outreach initiative by creating a campus-wide vermiculture composting project. This project acts as a replicable model for other schools to raise awareness of important environmental issues.

Anahi E., Green Haven Club president and an ardent environmentalist, says, "I wanted to help create an environmentally aware culture at school and boost enthusiasm among students for fighting for environmental justice,” says Anahi. “The work we are doing here embodies the Jesuit perspective that we are all stewards of the environment.”

We are grateful to CRSJ teacher and Green Haven moderator, Richard Piland, and to Republic Urban for their partnership on this important project.
A Special Cinco de Mayo Performance
Sujey H., 10th grader, told her Blend DE&I team that she's been dancing folkloricó for years and recently shared her talents during a team meeting held on Cinco de Mayo. Sujey works virtually so she performed over Zoom, in a Cristo Rey classroom, at lunch, on a day that wasn't even her scheduled Corporate Work Study day! We love when CWSP supervisors and young professionals find ways to celebrate culture and when life outside of work dances its way into the Zoom room!
