Greetings Bradley Beach-

A great week of weather... finally!

We’ll keep the focus on 3 Infrastructure projects going on at the same time and we will continue to provide updates so that you can stay informed.

Project #1 Beachfront

Outfall Pipe on Ocean Park/ McCabe Avenue beaches.  Progress continues through week 4.  Mobilization and sheeting has been completed.  Dewatering, excavation, and removal of the existing pipe will continue through next week.  Following this, new pipe installation will begin.  The final steps are removal of the sheeting, clean up and demobilization.  All activities are weather dependent and subject to material deliveries being on time.  So far- so good! On schedule and no surprises.

We are meeting with the project team on Monday and I’ll send out a “special edition” on Tuesday that will include all the steps we are taking to keep, in particular the  McCabe, Ocean Park, and Evergreen Avenue beachgoers informed.  The safety of our residents is our #1 priority; and acting to eliminate sinkholes on The Ocean Park and McCabe beaches has happened as expeditiously as possible.  We have also minimized Promenade damage/ interruption by using the Evergreen Avenue beach entrance.  We are confident that we will minimize disruption to our beach season; and have safe beaches for all.

Project #2 Completing the “Phase II” Sewer project.

The curbing and apron work is progressing on schedule. We are moving west and currently on the 600 block of 3rd Ave. As we begin the concrete work on 4th Ave (not as extensive as 3rd), milling/paving will begin soon thereafter. We are keeping to our timetable, weather permitting.

Project #3 Walking Bridge

The walking bridge on Lake Terrace Drive between Bradley Beach and Ocean Grove began a needed facelift. We received the new wire guards that will complement the wooden railings.  This style is like the construction on the new pier in Ocean Grove.  Final “finishing” carpentry will take place next week!

A few other non-infrastructure news items I want to mention-
