NEW HYMNALS:

The printers are running behind so we actually don't know when our roll out will be of the new hymnal in the pews. Most likely we will see them in early summer. This hymnal largely has our hymns from the two current hymnals plus 150 new hymns for us to try over time. The new hymnal was made possible by an individual gift but about 1/3 of the necessary hymnals to fill our sanctuary are available to be purchased for $20 each (at cost) in honor or memory of someone. Forms for this are in the bulletin today. You can also go see Melissa in the church office Mon-Thurs, 9-2 or send via email at faithchurchaustin@gmail.com. Please know that the bookplates have limited space so please keep your dedication limited to two lines of 35 characters each (including spaces).

Pentecost Offering: Investing in our Greatest Resource

Giving to the Pentecost Offering on June 4 makes it possible for the church to encourage, develop, and support its young people, and address the needs of at-risk children. A large portion of this offering can be retained by individual congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people within their own community. Your gifts to the Pentecost Offering help support Young Adult Volunteers, ministries for youth, and child advocacy.

The Young Adult Volunteer program is a one year service opportunity for young adults from 19 to 30 years. YAVs live in Christian community, deepening and developing their faith while serving in communities of need. The YAV program has sites around the United States and around the world, and YAVs serve for one academic year, August - July.

PC(USA) youth ministries include a daily devotional web site, d365.org, a triennial youth conference, and resources for congregational youth leaders.

The child advocacy program organizes and provides resources for Presbyterians to improve the lives of children through programs for families, aid to children in poor nations, and advocacy for government programs to help children in need.

Forty percent of the Pentecost Offering remains in the local church to be used for youth and children at risk. This year, our portion will go to the Manos de Cristo back-to-school program which provides hundreds of poor Austin kids with backpacks, clothing, and school supplies before the new school year begins.

How does it work? Scan the QR code below with your smartphone. There are no additional fees for you as the donor.
