A Belated Greeting!
"A Mother's Love,"
(By Helen Steiner Rice)
A Mother's love is something that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may,
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away,
It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking,
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems,
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation,
A many splendored miracle man cannot understand,
And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand.

5 Ways To Prepare For Digital Worship
By Drew Tucker
So you, and many others, are now worshiping digitally because of an order from your governor to Shelter in Place, Stay at Home, Quarantine or, my personal favorite, Hoosier Hunker Down. (Well done, Indiana.) These restrictions affect not just worship but small group meetings and Bible studies, council meetings and youth group activities. Much, perhaps most, of this life during
COVID-19
is digital right now.
Soon, though, the novelty may wear off.
Now that we've been sheltering in place for a month, there's a danger of losing both our connectivity to one another and our commitment to continuing this practice in these limited ways. How can you foster feelings of connection with God, with your community and with the worship experience? How can worship remain a priority for you not just in theory but in practice?

Several weeks ago, Penny Miller asked for contributions of elastic needed for masks that she was making for her staff at Preferred Health Care & Nursing Services. Several members of our congregation not only provided needed materials, but have joined in to make the masks as well. Barbara Wagner got the ball rolling and was joined by Carol Flood, Gloria Brosious, Ruth Weber and others in the "mask, mass production." (Let the editors know if we missed having your name in this article!)
Some of the cloth material that was at the church was able to be utilized for the mask making. Getting elastic was an issue, but the generosity of congregation members helped to solve that. According to Barbara and Penny, it is estimated that over 1,000 masks have been made and distributed. Besides Preferred Health Care, other facilities receiving the masks are Deborah Hospital and an oncology treatment unit. Orders of 25 to 40 masks continue to come in.
When masks are presented, a donation is received. These funds have been given to the Peace Pantry at Bridge Of Peace Community Lutheran Church in Camden and also a matching fund program of the ELCA for food banks. Our Lord Of Life Women's Ministry has been instrumental in coordinating the donations. Lord Of Life has provided about $1,300 to the Bridge of Peace Food Bank from the mask donations and individual congregation member donations.
The mask production will continue as long as the need is there. If you want to join in, contact Barbara Wagner or Penny Miller. Their email links are below. Thank you to all who have contributed to this cause!

Spotlight On:
Women's Ministry
Women of all ages are members of the very active Women's Ministry within Lord Of Life Lutheran Church.
The two main missions of the group are to provide outreach to those in the community and also organize enjoyable social activities.
An outreach focus for the group has been its association with Bridge of Peace Community Lutheran Church in Camden. Our church is a mission partner with Bridge of Peace and provides support to them in many ways. Our Women's Ministry group has a major role in that. Collections for their food pantry and donations of winter gloves, hats and clothing are coordinated by the Women's Ministry. Every other month the women provide a dinner for the youth at Bridge of Peace.
One other benevolence in which the Women's Ministry participates is the boardwalk breast cancer walk in Ocean City, NJ. Anyone can join in on the walk, and donations for breast cancer research can be made by sponsoring a participant.
The other mission of the group is fellowship. Activities normally occur about once a month. Some are held at the church and others at various venues. Past activities have been bowling, Christmas parties, luncheons, dinners, yoga, and the very popular bunco nights.
Betty Mastrillo is the leader of this Ministry and hopes those who are not currently involved will become part of the group. As was mentioned earlier, women of all ages are welcome! She has set up a Women's Ministry email group and contacts members on a regular basis using it. Let her know if you would like to add your email to her list. Betty can be reached using the email link below. She's looking forward to hearing from you!

Collection for the Christian Caring Center
The collection at the entrance way to the FDC/Grace Place of our church building is continuing. Look for the blue container and carefully place the items into it.
A delivery of the donations took place on April 29th, and your gifts were sincerely appreciated and welcomed. Our donation would have completely filled two large shopping carts. Thank you so much! Thank you for your support!

A Message On Your Monetary Contributions To The Church
Despite our building being closed, the work of the church is going on. Our Vice Pastor and the staff are actively engaged and the need to pay bills and the mortgage continue. Prayerfully consider continuing with your regular contributions.
Lord of Life Lutheran Church has implemented several ways for families to submit offerings to support the mission and ministries of the church even when you can not deliver your offering in person. Envelopes can be mailed to the church
(1 Winchester Court, Tabernacle, NJ 08088).
Offerings can also be made via a secure website and cell phone app. Donations by text message will no longer be offered. More information about these ways to contribute can be found on the church's website.
