2021 Virtual Annual Meeting & Conference

So Long and Farewell Rev. Dr. Michael Chittum, Executive Director This marks my last column here. Generally, I draw attention to new things that are happening within the life of the NACCC, but now it seems appropriate for me to say goodbye. Since July 2015, I have had the joy to serve as the Executive Director of the NACCC and the Congregational Foundation, but my time in that position draws to a close.  I have been gratified to realize the people within the NACCC who are committed to their local church, to the regional association in their area, and to the NACCC itself. These folks are the ones who help make everything move forward for the benefit of all. It seems appropriate for me to say thank you to all. In just a few weeks, there will be a new Executive Director in place, Ashley Cleere. There will be a new leadership team leading the NACCC and the Foundation. There will be new challenges and opportunities facing our churches. There will be new ideas proposed to move the church and the association forward. It seems appropriate for me to say that I will continue to pray for God’s blessings for you all.

Seafarer's Friend - Sneakers & Pizza Julie Robie, Missions Administrator For most of us, picking up a pair of sneakers and a pizza is something we can do without any trouble. For the crew of the ‘Livita’ that came into the Port of Boston, that was something that they couldn’t do for themselves. Due to the Covid pandemic, the crew of the Livita was not able to come ashore. The entire crew needed new sneakers because their shoes were worn out. One of our Seafarer's Friend chaplains was able to purchase 20 pairs of sneakers for the crew online and deliver them before they left port. “But what about the pizza?”, you ask? As you can see from the picture, the crew was very happy to have new shoes and celebrated with a pizza party. And yes, they shared their joy (and pizza) with our chaplain.

Recipient of John Richard Memorial Grant Debby Fulton, Director of Development & Communications Arbor Grove Congregational Church in Jackson, MI was this year’s recipient of the John Richard Memorial Endowment grant. The performing arts program, Rhythm & Faith, will take place on August 21st & 22nd. It will begin on Saturday evening with a 3-hour instruction session in both percussion and Native American Religious Traditions, followed by a bonfire drumming circle fellowship. Individuals will be offered instruction in the musical and the historical roots of both. The following day, at the Sunday morning worship service, the participants will incorporate what they have learned by sharing Native American themes and hymns providing the congregation with additional practice in encountering other cultures and the universal language of music.

ANNUAL MEETING DELEGATES If you are attending the 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting as the accredited voting delegate or alternate for your church, you must register for the meeting here AND fill out and return the Virtual Annual Meeting Delegate/Alternate Certificate.  Both steps are required.!
