It's that time of year again, graduation. We want to honor and celebrate any student graduating from any kind of program, high school, college, technical school, or certificate program. Support the Humanitarian Response in Ukraine

Anyone wishing to provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people in the wake of the Russian invasion of their country may contribute to Advance #982450, UMCOR International Disaster Response and Recovery. This fund will provide direct assistance to those in Ukraine as well as assistance to Ukrainians fleeing to neighboring countries.

Gifts to support the people of Ukraine can be made in the following ways:
  • Online at https://umcmission.org/advance-project/982450
  • By toll-free telephone: 888-252-6174
  • By check made out to Global Ministries/UMCOR with “Advance #982450-Ukraine” written on the memo line, either mailed and addressed to Global Ministries/UMCOR, GPO, P.O. Box 9068, New York, NY, 10087-9068 or given at or through any United Methodist church

One hundred percent of all Advance contributions go to the designated cause.

The United Methodist community in Ukraine, though quite small, is actively engaged in assisting neighbors in need. Global Ministries is in touch with the church’s leadership as well as with church leaders in countries welcoming those who are fleeing from violence in Ukraine.

Help Wanted

We have become accustomed to seeing this phrase all over town and here is another. Both the Children and Student ministries are in need of adult servant leaders on Sunday mornings. If you have an hour once a month to give, we can use you! The lessons are provided, we have some great kids and youth here at MZUMC and anyone's faith would grow through working with them. We need people at both services and during the 10:00 am Sunday School hour. If you feel led to serve in this way please contact Jen at [email protected] or Cyndi at [email protected].

Common Threads

Common Threads Closet is a non-denominational non-profit that distributes clothing, shoes, and small household items to those in need and in a setting that they can choose the items that they want and need. There is a box in the coat room to collect any items you wish to go to this organization.

Student Ministry

This Week: Students will be asked to consider how they judge others. We will talk about that because God doesn't judge us based on how we look or what our cultural heritage is, we shouldn't do that to others. Key scriptures are Acts 11:1-18 and 1 Samuel 16:7.

May 29th: End of the year party. We will celebrate the end of another year with outside games (weather permitting) and food. Join us at 10am on May 29th

May

We will meet at 10:00 am though the month of May

  • This week we will continue our series called "We are Witnesses" as we discuss calling and listening for God's voice in our life. Key Scripture is Acts 9:1-20.

June

We will not meet on Sunday mornings in the month of June:

  • June 5th is graduation Sunday. We will honor our graduates at our outdoor service at 10am. Please click this link to fill out some information and email [email protected] a photo of your senior or graduating student by May 15th so we can honor them on the 5th. https://forms.gle/5Y3SKsNJ55h3Ger87
  • June 21-23 is the youth "Road Trip Mission Trip." The 21st we will be working around the church, the 22nd we will be traveling to the Blue Rose Mission in Mansfield Ohio and on the 23rd we will be working at the Eastbrook Mission Barn in Newcastle PA.
  • June 26th is youth Sunday. Our youth mission team will lead worship this Sunday at 10am

July and August

  • The youth room will be open for the 10:00 am hour and we are hoping to have some fun "meet ups" in the evening throughout the summer at various places around the area (any recommendations are welcome). The hope for these "meet ups" is that students will come in a more relaxed, less structured environment to hang out and have conversation about whatever is on their mind.
