The Community Air Protection Incentives and the Charlene McGhee Memorial Lawn & Garden programs began accepting applications on May 1. The grant announcements are posted on the District's website. Look for the “Open” notation for the grants current available.

Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation Update
David Worthington, Chairperson of the Municipal Equipment Maintenance Association and Fleet Manager for the County of Santa Clara wants all public agency fleets in California to be aware that they are still subject to the Advanced Clean Fleets regulation (ACF). Mr. Worthington notes that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has issued the following statement:
“The state and local government fleets portion of the ACF Regulation remains unaffected by either California’s withdrawal of its waiver request or its agreements to resolve pending litigation. Federal fleets were included in the High Priority Fleets portion of the ACF."

EnergIIZE Commercial Vehicles (MDHD ZEV Infrastructure Incentive Block Grant
- Incentives for zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure equipment for medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles operated and domiciled in California.
- Applications will be primarily scored on project readiness with additional points available for publicly available or shared EV charging or hydrogen fueling stations and projects that demonstrate significant community support.
- Incentive Amount Available: $30 million

Ford’s Q1 Losses on EVs
Ford reported Earnings before Interest and Taxes as an $849M loss on the sale of 22,550 EVS, a loss of $38K per EV sold and a number that is much larger when all costs are included.
