It has been interesting to see how the Chambers of Commerce evolves as membership becomes more diverse. I recently attended a women’s business event at a local Chamber of Commerce. At the event, I was inspired by the energized discussions that came about from the lived experience and intersectional identities of the participating small business owners.
The leadership group was women with long time experience with the local chamber and city. Emerging and vocal owners included immigrant women assertively pursuing business growth and career advancement and Black women moving into industries with very low Black representation. These women were breaking new ground in entrepreneurship and leadership in the Bay Area. I look forward to participating in more energizing conversations with Chambers of Commerce facilitating multi-cultural communication and relationships.
This recent experience reinforced The CraneWorks’ commitment to a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural approach to business growth and management services.
