Principal's Points
Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families,

One more week to go! As we are wrapping up the year, so many exciting things are happening. Our first graders have harvested their crop of sweet potatoes, which they plan to donate to St. Vincent de Paul. Our first, second, and third grade classes have put together some very cool animal habitats exhibits. The sixth graders created their own models of lunar rovers, and kindergarten created a whole city with various buildings. It is so much fun to walk through the halls and see their creativity.

If you log into the Family Portal, you may have seen this message, "The shortcode for Parent Alert is changing." Starting June 1, messages sent via Parent Alert will originate from 31-706. I encourage you to add this shortcode to your save contacts for the school, so it does not display as an unknown sender.

Remember all those holy cards your child was given throughout the year? If they collected all the holy cards this year and still have them, they can bring them to me in the office for a surprise.

Tomorrow we say goodbye to our 8th graders as they graduate from St. Stephen. We wish them well and send prayers for their success in high school.

Thank you to those who completed my School Building Expansion survey. I appreciate everyone's input. I will summarize the findings and answer some of the questions next week in Tidbits.

Peace,

Linda Umoh

2022 Vacation Bible School

This Catholic VBS called Birthday Blast is an exciting PRO-LIFE-themed program where kids will learn to DISCOVER, RESPECT, PROTECT, SERVE, and CELEBRATE life. This program instills an awareness of God's amazing creation and the beauty and dignity of the human person. Kids will receive life-giving lessons on what it means to be a child of God.
St. Vincent De Paul Tea and Fundraiser
The annual St Vincent de Paul Tea and Fundraiser is scheduled for 9/17 in the FLC. The cost is $25 per person. For the past several years, school Moms have supported this event, and each grade has been able to fill a table. It is an amazing event that is fun and offers an opportunity to meet other school Moms and parishioners.

If you would like to be the Mom to promote the event to other Moms in your student's class, let me know. Teachers and staff also enjoy
attending. Your table does not need to be limited to school Moms. Guests are welcome to sit at your table or can help to fill another grade's table. We will be putting tables together now and again in August. If you would like to help your class be represented while also supporting this very worthy ministry, please contact me at ngallagher@sscsfl.org.
