Visitors From Across the Country Visit Main Street

On Monday, Gloucester's Board of Supervisors Chairman, Dr. JJ Orth, addressed professionals from all across the country inside the historic court circle. He, along with County Administrator Carol Steele and Museums Coordinator Robert Kelly welcomed the group as they toured Main Street.

The 2022 Main Street Now Conference is being held this week in Richmond, and a bus full of attendees chose to visit Gloucester to see how Gloucester Main Street has been implementing the Main Street approach to revitalize our historic downtown district.

An Important Message for Utilities Customers

In an effort to assist customers with delinquent account balances, Gloucester County Public Utilities recently adjusted the balances owed on those accounts by removing any Late Penalties greater than 10% of the charges for water and/or sanitary sewer service. Those adjustments are reflected in the water/sewer bills mailed in May 2022.

If an adjusted account balance is a credit, future monthly charges for service will be deducted from the remaining balance each month. A customer who still has a delinquent balance on their account, and has not signed up for a repayment plan, must request a repayment plan on or before June 20, 2022, to avoid interruption of service when Public Utilities resumes disconnecting service for delinquent balances.

PLEASE EMAIL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TO AMBER DURHAM [email protected]
OR KARIN EARWOOD [email protected]

Public Utilities anticipates resuming service disconnections for delinquent accounts without repayment plans on July 19, 2022. If your service is interrupted because of a delinquent balance, the entire balance, current and delinquent, must be paid before service can be restored.

Thank you for your cooperation with our efforts to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have any questions about the above, please contact Public Utilities Customer Service at (804) 693-4044 for assistance.
