This latest piece of news is a story about a wonderful man who created an edifice that came tumbling down, as part of the economic fallout in the United States.
The Crystal Cathedral, a mega-church in Garden Grove California, founded by television evangelist Robert H. Schuller in 1995, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October last year, to restructure its staggering debt. Let this be a lesson for us all. I believe that based on circumstances, what we have created in the name of God or Spirit can be destroyed or dissolved at any time.
The Crystal Cathedral, in its heyday held multiple services attended by thousands, with pageants and performances of epic proportions. Who didn't want to attend a service at the Crystal Cathedral, just to hear Pastor Schuller one of the great orators of our time, deliver the sermon?
This is what can happen when one person is "holding the focus" for a huge organization. When that person dies or retires, sometimes, the momentum behind the edifice is simply not there. And this is what happened to the Crystal Cathedral, which was recently sold to the Catholic Church for 57 million dollars. Family members, who were groomed to take over, did not have the magic of the original founder who held the vision for the church. Attendance dropped. Ticket sales were down. Sad but true.
Make what you can of your life, spread the word, transform others, but don't create an edifice that cannot continue without you.

|My Magnolia Tree|A few years ago a large cedar tree in my yard had to be cut down. It was sad to see the stately evergreen bucked up for firewood. The cedar was replaced with a magnolia, one of my favorite trees and a real harbinger of spring. This year, because it has more blossoms than ever, it's a testament to the truth, that when a tree or a plant is given the correct nourishment, just like us, it will blossom and thrive.

I have been blessed to have had several "angel experiences" in my life. I have written about them in my books, "The Body Knows." From these experiences, I know that we do not walk this earth alone. We are shepherded and guided by God, angels and master beings at all times. In fact, don't hesitate to call upon the presence of angels when you need comfort, support and inspiration. Two of my clients participated in Doreen Virtue's angel practitioner course last year in Kona, Hawaii. Natalie Kalbas is now doing "angel readings." I had one last month and enjoyed it very much. Guided by the angels, Natalie's insights were, for me, "right on!" Give Natalie a call if you'd like an angel reading at 979-542-8159.
Here is that Natalie says about angels with this lovely quote:
"Make yourself familiar with the angels, and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen, they are present with you. " ~St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622)

|Recipe ~ Spring Favorite - Fresh Asparagus|
If you're like me, spring is the time of year for fresh asparagus. I'm never really interested in asparagus at any other time of the year - when it's not in season! My favorite dinners are a nice piece of fresh halibut or Dover sole and an "armload of asparagus" - lightly steamed, drizzled with butter and a generous sprinkling of toasted slivered almonds or toasted pecans.
Toasted Nuts Place a cast iron frying pan on medium heat. Do not add oil. Place 1 cup pecans, or pine nuts or slivered almonds, into the hot frying pan. Stir the nuts slowly until golden - watch, they can burn easily. Cool nuts, store in a glass jar and refrigerate. Sprinkle on steamed asparagus, or salad to enhance the taste and texture of your creation.
