Veterinary Orthopedic Society News
May 2014 - In This Issue:

Greetings!

In this issue, we are spotlighting SECUROS and AOVET North America, two of the companies that endow the Mark S. Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Awards.

As you may know, Mark Bloomberg was a tremendous contributor to The Veterinary Orthopedic Society as a former VOS president, long-standing member, contributor, and supporter. He had special interests in orthopedics, especially sports medicine, and made outstanding contributions to this area in the clinical and research settings. Dr. Bloomberg was also a tremendous supporter and mentor to residents. To honor this special individual, his work, and his devotion to residents, The Veterinary Orthopedic Society established The Mark S. Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Awards.

These awards, which have become among the most prestigious in the society, are given each year to residents submitting abstracts for presentation at the VOS Annual Conference. The awards allow the recipients to travel to the meeting to present their work.

This year, through generous donations from our sponsors, we were able to fully fund seven Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Awards. Our sponsors are:

Mark Bloomberg Award Endowed Sponsors
AOVET North America
Merial
New Generation Devices
Orthomed
Securos
VOS Past Presidents

Mark Bloomberg Award Annual Sponsors
IMEX Veterinary, Inc.
KYON Veterinary Surgical Products

In addition to being an endowed sponsor, AOVET North America also endowed a $250 cash prize and course tuition fee for the best resident project.

VOS has decided to award only seven Mark Bloomberg Memorial Resident Research Awards each year, which means there is only one spot left for an Endowed Sponsorship. If you are interested in becoming an Endowed Sponsor or know of a company or individual who may want to do this, we encourage you to act quickly and contact Chris Horstman, Director of the Education Foundation, at [email protected].

We will profile our other sponsors in later issues of this newsletter.

Thank you to all our sponsors for their generous support!

Securos logo SECUROS Mission Statement: To be the recognized leader within Veterinary Medicine for innovative and quality training, instrumentation and modalities for the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases.

SECUROS was founded in 1997 to reshape the veterinary orthopedic industry. There were three key offerings missing within the industry at that time:

  1. Innovative, quality products

  2. Supreme customer service

  3. A company dedicated to educating the market on new and improved techniques, implants and instrumentation. This is what we set out to deliver and has since become known as the "SECUROS Philosophy."
Since the formation of SECUROS we have dedicated ourselves to being a leader in veterinary medicine. We are proud of what we have achieved over the years and look forward to more of the same for many years to come.

The SECUROS line of surgical instrumentation and orthopedic implants are recognized worldwide for their innovative designs, excellent quality, reliability and craftsmanship.

When you purchase from SECUROS, you are guaranteed the best in quality and customer service. We not only meet your expectations, we exceed them!

We take pleasure in providing not only the service and support you need, but deserve. With engineers and scientists on staff we invite you to share your ideas for the development of new surgical instruments and orthopedic implants. We are capable of turning your ideas into something real by using our rapid prototyping and fabrication resources.

On behalf of the SECUROS team members and our distribution partners, we thank you for your confidence and support. We are proud to be among those who have endowed a VOS Mark Bloomberg Award and continue to embrace our VOS relationship.

Quality and service that exceeds your expectations!

It's your SECUROS guarantee.
