What we're talking about
The latest discussions on the WSAE Connected Community
"As of April 21, 2015 Google is going to include 'mobile-friendliness' in their page ranking logic. Of course this is only important to you if you want your website and its various pages to be found by Google search engines."
______________
"For those of you who are with a professional (vs trade) association, can you provide me with an overview of your membership structure and note whether you have made any changes to your structure over the years? For example, WSAE has individual membership but recently added company memberships for organizations that have five or more members."

All the essential elements are still there: connected community discussion area, peer-to-peer communities, communications archives and member-related information. Turning Millennials Into Members Tuesday, June 23, 2015 1-2 pm CT
Starting in 2015, the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics predict that Generation Y (ages 18 to 31) will replace Baby Boomers as the majority of the workforce.
This is the largest human capital shift in history. Millennials also have such dramatically different values and communication styles than previous generations that it will take new membership and marketing strategies to turn them into loyal members.
Learn new tactics for growing your membership base, including how to:
- Relate to the Generation Y mindset
- Leverage the trickle up effect
- Introduce concepts relevant to Millennials without alienating the rest of your membership
- Engage Millennials with a must-have membership value proposition
- Market your association so it's visible, valuable and relevant to Millennials
The bottom line is that Millennials' new values and behaviors can be threats or opportunities for your association. Knowing Y and the new rules of engagement makes the difference.
