President's Message

We have several things to Celebrate and Appreciate this month.
Our Membership Rocks!!!   Our membership committee (which includes everyone J), and lead by Justin Finton has been on fire!!  Our chapter's goal this past year - Be 100 members Strong...   and we did it!!  At the close of April 30th, NEIAHU chapter has 104 members.  Congratulations to our team and sponsors for your recruiting efforts.  To our new members who have join this great association and chapter a heartfelt Welcome!  We are so glad to have you as part of this amazing team of insurance professionals and look forward to getting to know each one of you.

The Northeast Indiana chapter had a great Super Professional Day offering a full day of networking and learning.  We offered 15 courses providing something for everyone.  A special thank you goes out to those fellow ISAHU members who traveled far and near to participate.  This event has been the main fundraiser for our chapter, so we appreciate everyone's support.  The team included Cindy Trahin, Bill Hartman, Dotty Wiggin, Amber Frey, Sue Jones, and Marjorie Walter.  They delivered a fabulous event and deserve a round of applause!! Be sure to thank them for their efforts!!  A huge Thanks goes out to our presenters and sponsors.  Without a team effort and the support of our vendor partners and experts, the day wouldn't have been possible.

This month the chapter is offering a 1 CE credit hour at our May 16th meeting.  See newsletter or meeting announcement for details.  We are also be hosting the NAHU Live Webinar with Janet Trautwein.  Our chapter will be holding this program at Lutheran Hospital in the Kachmann Auditorium.  Members and their guests will be able to attend this interactive webinar and receive 1 CE credit.  The June 1st program will start at 12:00 noon and be offered FREE of charge.  This will be a great opportunity for our members to invite guests who might enjoy hearing from our experts at NAHU and learning more about our chapter.  We are all part of the Membership Committee - Membership Recruiting is easy & fun, just ask Justin, Bill or Cindy.  The CE credit for this webinar wouldn't have been possible without the support and commitment of our State Board.  A warm thank you to the efforts and sponsorship of our State Board and Cindy Trahin, Program Chair.

As of this update, our chapter will be sending 6 members to annual convention, with our delegates being named shortly.  We also have many members both board and others interested in attending the Region 3/6 Conference in Chicago, Aug. 1-2.  This should be a great event for our incoming chapter leadership.  If you are interested in learning more, please see the flier in the newsletter or ask a board member.

Speaking of leadership, our nominating committee is actively looking for new directors and officers for next year's board.  It's an exciting time for our chapter and I am humbled by the response of our members.  We should have a strong leadership team and better than that - active committees so more members can help shape our chapter's future.  If you haven't volunteered yet....  What are you waiting for?  Contact me at 260-415-9606 to learn about the volunteer opportunities.

More to come....  The summer is just heating up!

Kind Regards,
Kathy Goffer
