Building Our Campus
ACMin Makes Plans For A Permanent Campus!
We are SO excited to share the news that the Athens College of Ministry is taking steps to purchase 114 acres of the former Green Hills Country Club on Barnett Shoals Rd. as the site of our future campus! We're eager to grow into our farm, retreat center, prayer garden, and of course, all of the usual college features in a stunning location!  We invite you to partner with us on this journey by: a) praying that we would accomplish rezoning approval; and b) by helping to supply the necessary financial resources--$1.1M--so that we can bless the greater Athens area and beyond with a special gathering place under the Lord's banner! See our  2016 Campaign for Growth and make your pledge today!

Thankful for the Gift of Families

In thinking about how our culture will celebrate mother's and father's days in the weeks ahead, it's a wonderful time to reflect on the creator's gift of family to each one of us.  May we always be thankful for that gift, regardless of how broken our personal family units may seem. God, in His infinite wisdom, created each one of us into a family so that we might have the opportunity to be loved, to belong, and to have a safe place when we are afraid (1 John 4:18).  He gave us parents so that we could learn how to honor and obey (Deut. 5:16).  Whether we have ten siblings or one, we better understand what it means to multiply our joys and divide our sorrows, and we realize that there is always abundant love for each child (1 John 3:1). And through tough times with our family members, we become stronger as we exercise the discipline of forgiveness and grace (Matt. 18:22). Thank you, Heavenly Father, that you created families so that we might have a personal example here on Earth of how you wish to relate to each one of us as our ultimate, perfect Father. We ask you to give us good glimpses of you and your heart through every person we call family!

"I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in good health, even as your soul prospers."
  - 3 John 1:2

Meet ACMin's New Director of Student Affairs !

ACMin is very blessed to welcome Paul Cooke, Director of Student Affairs, to our Leadership Staff!

Paul understood the Gospel at the young age of 11, but says, "I didn't see the correlation between that and a changed life." His young life was characterized by athletic ambition in the sport of golf even taking him as far as South America to play in the Tournament of Champions alongside golfers like David Frost. A strong believer, Frost's life was a testimony to Paul. "He lived differently than I did," said Paul. Almost as soon as he realized he could play with the best in the world, Paul left the world of golf. "Some guys got out there and didn't have to make it their God. I had to make it my God if I was going to do it."

God led Paul to work with a youth group in Zelwood, Florida, where he made a dear friend who soon became his bride. Convinced that God had a call on his life, Paul set off with his new bride to attend seminary. But somewhere, "my focus switched from pursuing God to pursuing ministry - a subtle but significant difference."

We would like to extend a special thanks to all the ministry leaders who participated, to Cindy Mackey for organizing us, to Karla White, an ACMin student who led our time of worship, to Dr. Debbie Huckaby for her keynote message on our personal journey with the Lord, and to Tamala Baker for inspiring us all!
