Live Active Summit Recap
Our 2 days at Live Active summit were full of energy, learning, collaboration, physical activity and important discussions between different organizations and sectors. Conversations surrounding wellness and living active, including sport, active recreation, performance art, physical activity and all dimensions of well-being, need to continue and need to happen between organizations who have the same goal. A common thread within discussions, keynotes and presentations was that organizations need to take risks, get out of our own silos of work and start collaborating toward a collective goal;  Its important to work together to support and promote a vibrant, active city.
We look forward to further supporting the Live Active Strategy and seeing our communities uplifted and active for life! Check out this video and see what inspired our delegates about the strategy.

Outdoor Classroom Day!
Outdoor Classroom Day is a day to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning and  play. On Thursday May 18th, 2017, thousands of schools around the world will take lessons outside and prioritize playtime.
Why? Outdoor learning improves children's health, engages them with learning and leads to a greater connection with nature. Play not only teaches critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity, but is central to children's enjoyment of childhood.
It's easy to get involved and there is something everyone can do!
Last year, we had a summer institute, Connecting to Land and Nature-Based Learning; Check out this great collection of lesson plans for inspiration and ideas about how to take your classroom outdoors.
Learn more about outdoor classroom day and join in on May 18th!
