The Foundation for Douglas County Schools: A New Name and a New Face

It was a celebratory tone at the 2017 Apple Awards ceremony, sponsored by the Foundation for Douglas County Schools (formerly Douglas County Educational Foundation), as Douglas County School District employees - from principals, to teachers, to support and administrative staff capped off Employee Appreciation Week. More than 600 DCSD employees filled the Event Center at Douglas County Fairgrounds to honor Apple Award representatives who have demonstrated educational excellence in the classroom and behind the scenes. Partner Highlight: Monty Nuss
For the past 10 years Monty Nuss has been a part of the annual Apple Awards celebration. They have donated their time and team to make sure Apple Representatives have a professional picture to remember the night.

Having your pictures taken with a Denver professional photographer means getting it right the first time. You deserve the best! Monty Nuss Photography was created in 1981 by Monty and Carole Nuss. Originally, it was just "a hobby" for which Monty had a great passion. Through hard work, dedication and a desire to capture the special moments in people's lives, they have created the  Uniquely You Experience™.

Monty Nuss has been fortunate to have the opportunity to photograph thousands of people over the years including celebrities, presidents and more. But most of all, they appreciate being able to make memories and give back to the community and their valued customers for over 35 years.

Lend A Hand School Supply Drive Kicks Off!
As this school year rapidly comes to an end, the FDCS is gearing up for kids to go back to school! In June, with the support of our community partners, the Foundation kicks off our annual  Lend A Hand School Supply Drive for Douglas County children in need.

Since many DC Schools begin as early as  August 7th, it can be challenging to supply initial student requests. To help with this issue, we are again purchasing KitsForKIDZ. A branch of Staples, KitsForKIDZ offers custom school supply kits for all grade levels, at a substantially reduced cost. For a contribution of only $20.17, you may purchase a basic school supply kit for kindergarten through 2nd grades, 3rd-5th grades, or for middle/high school students. Your donation will enable us to have kits ready for our first distribution event on   Saturday, July 29.
