2017 CDA Annual Session Changes Location to Beaver Creek


The location of the 2017 CDA Annual Session has changed. Due to an unforeseen delay in hotel construction, the meeting will now be at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Hotel and Spa instead of the originally contracted Vail Cascade/Hotel Talisa property in Vail, Colo.  Here's what you need to know.
National Signing Day Brings in 71 New ADA Members 

The CDA and Metro Denver Dental Society hosted National Signing Day for CU School of Dental Medicine students May 3 at the Mountain West Dental Institute. Of these 71 new members, 43 soon-to-be-dentists plan on staying in Colorado to practice.  Read more.
SB 190 on Non-Covered Services Signed into Law


Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper signed into law SB 190, a bill that requires dental plans to stop dictating fees for services they do not cover. The bill takes effect Aug. 9. The CDA is talking with dental plans and carriers and will update CDA members when additional information on the  practical effects and implementation of this bill becomes available.   Get details.
Medicaid Revises Orthodontic Payment Policy Proposal 

In October 2016, Medicaid (now known as Health First Colorado) announced changes to its payment methodology for orthodontic providers, which was met by concerns in the orthodontist community.  Get the details.

Exam Glove Prices Might Increase Soon

Because of significant cost increases in natural rubber latex and nitrile butadine rubber since September 2016, the price of examination gloves may increase in the coming months.  

Membership Matters in the House of Delegates in June 

The CDA's governing body convenes each year at the Annual Session. The House of Delegates, made up of representatives from the state's component societies, votes on resolutions that affect the CDA and its membership. This year's resolutions are now available. Among the resolutions is one brought forth by the CDA Finance Council to increase member dues by $10 per active member.  Read more.
