Fitness Workout Session
The Computer Projects of Illinois staff started a new stage this month where they transitioned from sets to minutes. This stage is more challenging as rest and recovery occurs less frequently unless needed and exercises are done at an individualized pace. This stage builds strength as well as endurance. Staff did fantastic and pushed through this tough workout! They have progressed well and are getting stronger with every workout!
Spring Your FIT Self Into Summer Challenge
The Spring Your FIT Self Into Summer Challenge is going great! This challenge runs through June and is points based while taking into account the three essential components to achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle: Strength Training, Cardio Training and Optimal Nutrition. Points are earned based on weekly body fat percentage loss, weight loss and inches lost, training sessions with Janet, workouts completed at home, My Fitness Pal, meal prep and planning, healthy recipes and bonus points for trivia questions.

The staff jumped back on the scale for weigh-ins, plus we measured their body fat percentages and inches lost. Staff is doing fantastic and as a group they've lost 11.2lbs, 2.8% body fat and 39.25 inches overall! WOW!!!
Staff continues to post their home workouts (they even go on group walks during lunch at work), recipes, meal prep pics and they are doing an awesome job logging into My Fitness Pal! I'm so proud of them and their progress!!! They Got This!!!

Group Outdoor Workouts
The JZTrainedme Fitness Group Workouts have been a big success!!!

These clients and participants have been doing awesome. They never know what the workout is going to entail but they are guaranteed a head to toe, butt-kickin fun time!

Keep in mind...these group pics were taken at the end of the workouts and they are still smiling...and they keep coming back for more! If your interested in coming out and joining us please see the info below:

The cost is $15 per session and the workouts will take place in Bartlett from 9am-10am and run on the following dates:

In the event of inclement weather,
outdoor workouts will be cancelled

  • Sunday, June 17th (prior commitment on Saturday, June 16th)
  • Saturday, June 23rd

Exercises That Eliminate the
"Bra Bulge"

Sorry boys...this one's for the girls!

With summer just around the corner and bathing suit season upon us...many of my female clients have been asking me about the bra bulge or back fat and how to get rid of it.

Since there is no such thing as spot reducing...it's important to incorporate exercises that provide a proper balance of working the chest, arms and back. Focusing on these muscle groups will also help improve your posture, which ultimately helps eliminate the appearance of bra bulge.

When possible, try to use free weights to make the exercises more challenging but body weight will also work on many of these too.

Here's a list to get you started. If you're not sure of what these exercises are, check out my social media pages to view my weekly recap videos as most can be found there or feel free to contact me to give you some guidance.

Jumping Jacks
Shrugs
Renegade Rows (upright plank with back rows)
Tricep Extensions on bench or stability ball
Chest Fly on bench or stability ball
Squat Thrusters
Plank with Lateral Arm Raise
Jump Rope
Single Dumbbell Back Rows
Halos
Mountain Climbers
Push-ups with shoulder extensions
Pull-ups
Dumbbell Back Pullover on bench or stability ball

Of course there are so many more, but this is a great list and most can be done with minimal equipment. Incorporate these exercises into your fitness regimen on a consistent basis and say bye to back fat and bra bulge!
Client Spotlight - Lisa
Lisa started training with me in March of this year. We went to high school together and reconnected on Facebook. Plus our kids attended high school together too!

Lisa trains with me two times per week and she is one determined client. Despite some injuries sustained in a car accident a few years back, she puts forth 100% effort in every workout session and wants to be challenged as much as possible. In addition, she works out on her own and has been logging in My Fitness Pal and managing her macros.

Her results have been outstanding thus far. In just two short months she's lost over 8 pounds and 2.4% body fat! WOO-HOO!!!!

Lisa also attends the JZTrainedme Fitness Group Outdoor Workouts when her schedule allows and she bought a rucksack and started rucking as an alternative to running and she loves it!

She's on the best path to a permanent healthy lifestyle change! Stay tuned for more great results from Lisa! She's got big goals and I have no doubt she'll achieve them because SHE'S GOT THIS!
May Featured Recipe - Grilled Sweet Potatoes

  • 2-4 medium to large sweet potatoes, sliced lengthwise in 1/2 slices (peeled or unpeeled) 
  • Olive Oil
  • Preferred seasoning

Prepare grill for medium heat cooking. Brush or rub both sides of each sweet potato slice with olive oil. Sprinkle, rub or brush both sides of sweet potatoes with preferred seasoning. Place sweet potatoes on the grill. Grill,
with cover closed, about
6 minutes on each side or
until tender and charred.
