LSSU Board of Trustees approved a one rate tuition at Lake State that extends across the globe. The worldwide one rate tuition is effective beginning fall 2018. Previously, the one rate tuition applied only to students residing in North America.



President Mitchell starts new LSSU tradition with two charges to the 2018 LSSU graduates, a tradition he hopes will continue at Lake State.

A few facts you may not have known about entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr. Lou Lukenda.

Dr. Kirk Mauldin and Dr. Melissa Schaffer-O'Connell have been selected to teach at Dalkieth Castle as part of the University of Wisconsin River Falls Experience Scotland Program. Dr. Mauldin will be on the Dalkeith, Scotland faculty for the Fall 2019 semester, while Dr. Shaffer-O' Connell will be in residence during both summer sessions in 2020.

Sharon Gray '95 was awarded Member of the Year by

the Escanaba Area Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
 
Paul Theriault '72 was inducted into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame recently. Theriault spent 10 years with the Oshawa Generals, leading the team to 2 OHL championships. Paul is a Laker hockey alumnus & was  an assistant/JV Laker hockey coach.

Carol McClellan '65 was named HLK Boss of the Year for Frankenmuth. McClellan owns and operates several businesses and has mentored and employed many people throughout Frankenmuth, Sault Ste. Marie and other locations in Michigan.
 
 
Paul Jerrard '87 named Assistant Coach at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

LSSU Baja Racing
at the  Society of Automotive E ngineers' Mini-Baja competition in Mechanicsville, MD on April 19-22. The students showcased their kart at the Senior Projects Presentations & Demonstrations on May 4th at the CASET building.
 
Christopher Wendt 
Fire Science major, Christopher Wendt received the Youth Volunteer of the Year award as part of the 2018 Governor's Service Awards.
 
Snowdrifts 
Student editors in Prof. Mary McMyne's ENGL 223, Creative Writing II, released the latest issue of LSSU's annual undergraduate literary journal, Snowdrifts, April 26th.  This issue features poetry and prose (both fiction and nonfiction) by LSSU students.  Students' visual art also appears in this year's issue.The cover photo this year is "Sheri Lake" by Tristen Gleason (Pictured above).
