Community Outreach
This year, WSAE is thrilled to support the Lakeland Animal Shelter, located in Delevan, WI. Lakeland Animal Shelter is the only animal shelter that serves all of Walworth County and beyond. The shelter takes into care more than 3,000 homeless animals each year, and is very proud to say that it the only animal shelter in the state that has open intake of stray animals for the entire county and is a no-kill shelter, where animals have no time or space limits. This valuable service is available thanks to community-wide support and partnership opportunities, such as this one with WSAE.
Your contribution is important! The shelter uses a tremendous amount of supplies to keep these homeless animals fed, healthy and comfortable. There will be a collection bin at the registration desk during the Spring Outing to collect items off their wish list.
Check out their wish list items.
Additionally, Mulligans will be sold on Monday and Tuesday to be used during the golf outing, with all proceeds going to the shelter. Lakeland Animal Shelter staff will be available both days and plan to bring animals for a meet-and-greet!

Does your Association Assist International Conference Attendees in Getting a Visa?
Our association receives many requests from international members to assist them in getting a visa to attend our annual conference. Its has typically been our policy to provide a letter of invitation to the member to provide with their paperwork when they apply. We were recently asked by a member to contact the US embassy in that member's country, to assist them in getting a visa.
We have never done this, and are wondering if any associations use this approach? If your association does contact the US embassy, do you have a policy that outlines this procedure that you would be willing to share? If you do not contact the US embassy, do you provide more than a letter of invitation?

Weird questions - do you know the answers?
One of my board members asked me if there are any association studies regarding political beliefs within membership. I figured smart WSAE members may be able to answer his questions.
Specifically, he asked:
- Is there a correlation between professional organizations and political orientation? (We know some professions are certainly leaning one direction.)
- Is there a generational difference within those populations?
- Are there any studies on a shift of politics for younger potential and existing members?
