Pastor's Message
Spring to Life

While I love every season, there is something about spring that is special. Trees, flowers, and plants of all kinds come back to life. The birds return from their winter vacation homes down south, just like some of our members. Animals of all kinds are having new families. Some of you have seen the beautiful fox cubs I have had the pleasure to photograph. It brings me such joy to watch them learn and play and interact with each other. There is something amazing about growth a nd new life that is like nothing else.

The same is true in our lives. We too have seasons. Seasons where we are struggling just to get by. Seasons of pain and discouragement. Seasons of just going through the motions. But we also should have seasons of growth and new life. While these seasons may come on their own through an event or situation that our life enters, it is also something that we can very intentionally plan and work on.

I was excited for this year's series of going deeper and for the amazing cooperation of all who contributed to our book. What I didn't expect was how good it would be for me. Each week as I go through the process of thinking about the questions, personal reflection, and forming in my mind a commitment of how I will grow; I am humbled and excited about the insight and growth I see God doing in my life.
I pray you are finding this to be true for you as well. Just reflecting on the last few weeks are you finding yourself more attentive to being more loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, and gentle? Or at least have a vision and plan of how you will be more of those things?

Just as in the natural world new growth requires certain things; sunlight, water, nourishment, a safe environment. So too in our new growth. We must be attentive to the things that will help us grow. For our growth it includes things such as regular prayer, reading of God's Word, and Worship. Our new growth requires commitment, attention, and accountability. Our new growth requires a desire and willingness to change and grow.

I encourage everyone to make this spring a new season in your life. To be excited and focused on the new things God wants to do in your life. May we be challenged, stretched, and encouraged in the new life that is growing in each of us. And in this new growth may our families, friends, coworkers, and all who encounter us be impacted in positive ways by our presence in their life. May God empower you in this journey, may Jesus teach you and inspire you, and may the Holy Spirit lead you each step of the way.

Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Philip

Mission Trip to Uganda
Pastor Philip

Have you considered if God might be calling you to a short-term mission trip?  It is an experience like no other.  It opens your eyes to the greater needs of people less fortunate that ourselves.  It opens your eyes to the contentment, joy, and hopefulness of people who have far less.  It opens your eyes to brothers and sisters who may look different and have a far different culture but who share the same love for Jesus that we have.  There are several different times we could consider going.  Thanksgiving break November 19-30, Christmas break December 26-Jan 4, or early summer June 3-14.  These dates are all a general guess but planned around school calendar so you could attend with parents if that would be of interest.  The cost would vary depending on dates selected.  A pretty good estimate of cost for each time would be; November $2500, December $2900, and June $3100.  This would include all major hard expenses; flight, ground transportation, lodging, and food.  Please let pastor know if you would be interested in this trip and which possible times would work for you.  We need to determine if we have enough interest soon so we can begin to make plans.
Love Offering
Each month we will highlight an outreach or special ministry. Loose cash offerings and designated offerings will be given directly to those ministry opportunities.

In April we collected

Prayer Warriors
Cheryl Touryan

If you pray to God regularly, irregular things will happen on a regular basis. The Prayer Team has seen this over the past two years. God's answers have been surprising and amazing. We are blessed and encouraged. Everyone is welcome to join us on Wednesday afternoons, 2:30 - 3:30 pm. Come and be blessed.

In our efforts to do more and be seen more in our community, we have a few  projects that we feel

If you have a heart for this or have an idea for something new, please contact Eunice Bollinger at eunice.b@comcast.net

For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
