DIRECTOR'S NOTE

It's full of a lot of great books for sale.
They can be paid for at the Information Desk.
MEET THE STAFF

Name:  Debbie Estrella
Library Position:  Adult Services Librarian

Where will we most likely see you in the library?
You may see me at the Information Desk, at events around town (come say hello at the Tiverton Four Corners Garden and Herb Festival on May 28th!), or at one of our Adult Programs. I'll be the one setting up tables and chairs; introducing our talented speakers, instructors, and performers; leading a program or two; or setting out snacks and making the popcorn.

What's your favorite book or film?
There are too many! I will say that There There by Tommy Orange was, hands down, the best book I read last year. Right now, I'm listening to Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield and am loving it--the story and writing are beautiful, and the narration by Juliet Stevenson is incredible. She takes on the persona of each character so convincingly. I could listen to her all day.

I just watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It was quirky and funny and heartwarming.

Tell us about a hobby you take interest in outside of your work at the library.
I've been quilting for many years and have been a member of a quilting group that still meets occasionally. It's such a creative, meditative art, and quilting regularly with a group is a wonderful way to connect with others, grow in your craft, and make lasting friendships. I hope to bring that sense of creative fun and community to the library's new monthly Quilt Club, starting on Wednesday, May 15th, at 5:30pm in the Learning Center.

What's your favorite place you've visited or a future place you hope to visit?
I spent a few days in Edinburgh, Scotland, a few years ago and would LOVE to go back.

What was the best meal you've eaten?
I was in Paris a few years ago and was fortunate to enjoy an outdoor meal on Montmartre. I still dream about that onion soup!
