Complete a reading logs and you're entered into a drawing for prizes, sponsored by the Lake Wales Library Association - Friends of the Library.

Adult readers can also pick up our word play, or crossword puzzle game board. Complete these contests and you're entered into our prize drawing.

Get in touch with your 'artistic' side in our Discover an Alien Contest! Create your version of an alien in any medium you'd like, photograph, painting, collage, drawing, anything. Bring your creature creation to the library's front desk to display with other entries. Vote for your favorite, prizes will be awarded for the voting winner.

June's Lake Wales Public Library's Local Artist Gallery features the abstract paintings of Alice Absolutely

Alice Absolutely is a self-taught artist positioning her work at the cusp of Abstract Emotionalism. She was born in Winter Haven, Florida and works now as our very own teen specialist (although you’d know her better as Amanda McCallister in that role).

Her works have been displayed at events with the Orlando Museum of Art, the Morean Arts Center in St. Pete, and the Art League of Daytona Beach. She has recently worked on commissioned projects with the Winter Haven Cultural Arts Advisory Committee and the Partnership for Public Education.

She is displaying pieces in the Lake Wales Public Library's Local Artist Gallery from her collection, “Flying High At The End of My Rope.” This collection is a visual circus of emotional overload.

Alice's paintings are displayed in the LW Public Library's Local Artist Gallery through June 28.

Visit the LW Public Library during  regular hours of operation  to view her works. You can learn more about her on her website, www.aliceabsolutely.com and can see her works in progress on her Instagram page, www.instagram.com/aliceabsolutely/
