President's Message
Greetings friends,

National Construction Safety Week reminds us all how important workplace safety is every week of every year. It’s a week where many construction firms highlight successes and challenging their employees to improve upon the way they think about safety. Regardless of your industry or position, we all have the opportunity to contribute to a safe workplace.

As we celebrate National Safety Week (May 6-10), let’s continue the conversation and demonstrate our commitment to being safe every day. If you are looking for ways to make an impact within your workplace and community, I encourage you to attend a WTS event, join a committee, or just reach out to your fellow members. Our chapter is filled with great leaders and even greater opportunities for those looking to share lessons learned and best practices.
I look forward to sharing ideas and catching up with many of you at the 2019 WTS International Conference in Boston!

Sincerely,
Adrienne Williams
President, Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter
WTS Annual Awards Banquet

The WTS Annual Awards Banquet didn’t disappoint. The Frontiers of Flight Museum was the perfect location for our Black and White Gala with valet service and red carpet treatment. With great sponsorships and nearly 200 individuals attending, we were able to raise $13,810 for scholarships and professional development opportunities. The awesome raffle prizes and Heads or Tails game brought in a grand total of $3,010.

The honorees were dressed to impress with their 2018 accomplishments. Eleven students received scholarships, each $2,500, totaling $27,500. Due to the generosity of many, the “High School Scholarship In Memory of Wanda J. Schafer” continues to bestow the same kindness that Wanda was known for. She would be proud. Here’s to everyone that made this event a resounding success!
