Automated Chain Inspection Strategy for BorgWarner

The Challenge: The Tauber project team of Anab Waris Rathore (MBA) and Austin Friedant (EGL BSE/MSE-ME) was tasked to provide a technical evaluation of automated visions systems and an implementation strategy to meet quality standards and reduce inspection costs at the BorgWarner Morse Systems Arcore plant.
The Solution: The team developed a roadmap for continued technical development in pursuit of fully automated inspection for the plant, with the potential to expand the model to seven additional global facilities. In the immediate term, the team's recommendations can decrease inspection times by 33%, improve customer quality, and reduce ergonomic risk for visual inspectors.
