Dear VOS members,
I want to thank all of you who took the time to respond to our annual member survey. Your responses gave us great insight into what we are doing well and into those areas where you would like to see change. Our goal is to increase the value of your VOS membership and to assure that the annual conference provides the best science as well as the best opportunities for all of us to network, socialize, and enjoy the great outdoors. We are now working on revisions for the 2020 conference, addressing your requests.
For example, several of you requested that we provide more information about activities that can be enjoyed beyond downhill skiing.
Sun Valley Resort, our 2020 locale, provides many winter sports options, including a state-of-the-art
Nordic ski center where cross country skiing and snowshoeing is among the best in the U.S. with a range of trails to explore, expert coaching available, and premium rental gear. There is a great
ice skating center at the Sun Valley Lodge. It is home to Olympic and world-class skaters and is open to the public. How about a
sleigh ride into the hills? Or
fly fishing in the nearby streams? Prefer indoor sports? The Sun Valley Lodge has a great bowling alley with arcade games for young and old.
We are, of course, focusing upon the science. José García-López and Caleb Hudson are preparing a great conference, with an emphasis upon those topics that you have requested. We had great response to the new "rapid fire poster presentations" session and well as our returning feature: Imaging Rounds. Many of you expressed interest in our adding a "rapid fire case presentations" session ... we're working on this!
 Mark your calendar today for the 2020 conference at Sun Valley Resort on February 1-8, 2020. Football fans: We are editing our normal Sunday schedule to accommodate the Super Bowl on February 2. Lectures will begin earlier in the day, and we will have a great Super Bowl Party as part of our Exhibitors' Showcase, including wonderful food and drinks with large projection screens so we can see every exciting play from pre-game through half-time.

VOS continues to offer advertising space in the electronically delivered newsletters.
Advertisers may choose to place an ad for one billing cycle, which covers three newsletter issues, or select a discounted annual package, which covers nine newsletter issues.
VOS offers vertical banner ad space in addition to horizontal banner ad space. Horizontal and vertical banner ads are available in two sizes (single-height or double-height), and each ad may be linked to the advertiser's website homepage or other web page.
A maximum of 15 horizontal and 2 vertical advertising spaces are available in each issue, and priority is given to annual advertisers.

VCOT OPEN, THE OPEN-ACCESS COMPANION JOURNAL TO VCOT

 Did you know that Thieme, the publisher of the
Veterinary and Comparative Orthopaedics and Traumatology (VCOT) journal, started an open-access companion journal called
VCOT Open last year?
VCOT Open publishes review articles, original research as well as case reports concerning the various aspects of veterinary clinical and comparative orthopaedics and traumatology.
All articles in VCOT Open are made freely available for all to read and download.

SUBSCRIBE TO THE VCOT JOURNAL

 VOS members are eligible for a discounted subscription to the Veterinary and Comparative Orthopaedics and Traumatology (VCOT) journal. VCOT is the official journal for 11 organizations, one of which is VOS.

All VOS members are qualified to subscribe to VCOT at a reduced yearly fee of $155. Without VOS membership, the cost would be $315.
VOS annual dues of $110 ($25 for Interns and Residents) must be paid to receive this rate. Subscription includes printed copies & online access to current issues and archive back to 1988.
Please note that individual subscriptions are limited to online access by one person only. PIN will be issued by publisher.
