Book of the Month

About The BookTripping with Jim is a simple, honest story by a complex person. It's a life's journey of stupid decisions, and close calls, written with humor, insights, and never-ending optimism.  Think of yourself as a hobo, and jump on the train of thought with Jim Adduci. You will go from state to state of mind. It will be fun, interesting, and thought provoking. Each trip is an experience in life. He will bring you to the places he's been, both physically and mentally, that made him who he is today, for better or worse.  Buy The Book

About The Author Jim Adduci:    Jim grew up in a hard-working neighborhood (Dorchester) with mostly Irish, Italian and Polish Catholics. He went to Catholic school and played in the Little League. He had a wonderful family and a playful, but mischievous childhood, which carried over into adulthood. In 1989 at the age of 40 he went prison for three years (drugs) where he began his writing. He moved here from Boston in 1994, and started and operated Ship Shape Window Cleaning for ten years. He then drove for Dolphin
Transportation until he retired to write, "Muffin, My Autobiography", and "Tripping with
Jim, without drugs."   Jim Adduci Email

In 2019 Marco Island Writers once again extend a heartfelt handshake and thank you for your membership and support. Membership entitles you to all the regular meetings, promotion of your books, short stories and poetry on the website, member rates to any event requiring admission, and reciprocity with Gulf Coast Writers to attend their meetings at their member rates.  One other advantage for our Members is The Members' Edition of the Newsletter which contains a special section with speaker handouts, tips, tricks and professional advice. Supporters and Guests also contribute and are given a Guest Edition Copy of our Newsletter, minus the handouts, tips, tricks and professional advice section. Thanks you to our Supporters and Guests!

Again in 2019, and with your support, we continue to move forward with our goals of encouragement and help to budding writers. We hope that, even if you can't attend every meeting, or serve on a committee, you know your participation has made a difference in the writing community. We continually strive to bring quality speakers and workshops to our members.
