April in Review
The snow has disappeared; the grass and flowers are peaking through, the trees are turning green, spring is in the air….but….that being said… the temperatures are not making it feel like it is almost May!!
We had another great month at Zack’s Place; it’s been a busy month and will continue to get even busier, asthe month of May, has a lot going on.
We continued to stay active during April swimming at UVAC, playing games with Carl, staying fit with Bari, doing yoga/dance with Liz Barker and practicing yoga twice a week with all of our wonderful yogini’s!!
On the creative side of things we went to Artistree to make clay with Fiona, we had art with Finnie, art with Caitlin, art with Lolly and Bonnie and we had our painting/greeting card program with Lynn VanNatta. We had an open house at the Norman Williams Public Library, for our spring art show “Zack’s Place Spring Offerings.” The show will be up for a couple more weeks, so if you haven’t seen it yet, go check it out, it is fabulous!!We continued our music and singing programs with Mark and Kathleen and Kerry every Wednesday! We also managed to fit in an hour of storytelling with Jools and a couple of drumming sessions with Ted!
We are madly getting ready for our big performance of the “Jungle Book” taking place on May 15th at 5:30PMand we have spentseveral hours, twice a week, practicing the play, songs and dances!
Our field trips this month were wonderful too. We took a trip to Prosper Valley Maples Farm, the Burrell’s, to see the sugaring operation. We went bowling twice at Maple Lanes in Claremont, we went to Billings farm for a farm program, we went to the LOH for a play “A sick day for Amos Magee” and we took an amazing trip to the Magic Wings butterfly conservatory in Deerfield Mass, which was truly incredible!!
We also took many walks around town, visiting with friends and taking in the beauty of this wonderful place we all get to call home!
Overall, another wonderful month for all of us at Zack’s place!
