May 2019 Issue

Dear CPWC Members,

Although our year of Hope is coming to a close, we know hope continues to grow as always, nurtured by each of you and your contributions to our club, community, and the world beyond. Thank you for supporting our activities and our charity over the course of 2018-2019!

Please join us for the closing lunch on May 10th at the home of Natalie Epperson. Natalie is a long time supporter of Kidz2Leaders and we greatly appreciate that she is opening her home to us. We will present the charity with our donation check, install our new board for 2019-2020, and recognize the Member of the Year!

There is also one more evening program, on Tuesday May 20 the Savvy Evening Group is hosting our own Aurelie Barrial at the home of Pat Iaffaldano. She will talk about Preventive Nutrition. Remember to ask Aurelie about her new cookbook!

We look forward to celebrating 50 years of CPWC with you starting in September. Save the date for the September 13, 2019 Opening Lunch and February 8, 2020 Anniversary Party.

We are privileged to count founding and long time members in our current membership. It is because of their efforts that we have a vibrant, community oriented club today. We are honored to be entrusted to sustain the club for the members of the future and greatly enjoyed serving as your Co-Presidents this year.

Thank you, have a beautiful summer, see you in September!

With hope...

Co-Presidents
AprilApril Fun!

The CPWC enjoyed multiple events last month. Thank you to everyone that volunteered and participated! We hope to see you at our programs and events this month and when they resume in the Fall!

The Hiking Group enjoyed a beautiful day visiting Donna Brown in her new home in Big Canoe Georgia. Donna welcomed us with muffins and fruit, and we set off to hike Upper and Lower Falls. Everyone packed a picnic lunch, and we finished with dinner at the club on the patio. A wonderful day on the trails to cap off a stellar year of Hiking Group treks!

After some last-minute shuffling of times due to rain, the Family Activities committee welcomed dozens of neighborhood children to McFarlane Park on Sunday, April 14 for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. The highlight this year was a petting zoo where the children enjoyed getting to know goats, chickens, bunny rabbits and a pig! It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and wonderful memories were made.

A group of 20 CPWC Members and guests went to the Atlanta history center on April 12, 2019 comment to view the newly installed cyclorama exhibit.  Following the tour we enjoyed lunch at Souper Jenny on the property.
