Junior Olympics

Fourth Grade Swimming Lessons will be taking place in May. Students will ride the bus to the pool at Marinette High School for 6 swim lessons. The lessons will take place during the morning hours on May 14, 15, 16, 17 and May 20, 21. Please send your child to school with a swimsuit, towel, plastic bag, and goggles/mask if they own a pair.

In the United States, drowning is the second leading cause of death among those ages 5 to 14, according to the National Safety Council. For every child who dies from drowning, another five will receive emergency department care for non-fatal submersion injuries and 50% of those children end up hospitalized. We are partnering with the YMCA to give students the skills necessary when living around water.

School Assignment Change Requests

Marinette School District assigns all students to their home schools based on the established elementary school boundaries to ensure student enrollment balance within the elementary schools.

By July 30, a parent can apply for a district exception online, which is reviewed by the District Administrators for approval. If the family receives approval, it is the district’s expectation that the student will be parent transported to/from school in a timely manner or the district exception will be reversed. Families will be notified by the first Friday in August.

Potential Reasons for Approval:
  1. Medical conditions of student.
  2. Extenuating family situation.
  3. Family moved from current home in district to a new home causing a change in elementary boundary area.

Marinette School District reserves the right to request further documentation if needed to make a final decision. All decisions are made by the District Administrator and are final.
