News from HandsOn Sacramento
DOVIA'S Volunteer Management for One Day Events
On Thursday, April 11th, HandsOn Sacramento was invited to be the speakers for an event organized by DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers in Agencies) titled “Volunteer Management for One Day Events.” We shared tips, tricks and other best practices on how to recruit and manage volunteers for one-day events. We enjoyed the company of fellow volunteer coordinators and their presentation was well-received.

Sacramento Region VOAD Presents to Hope Bridge Relief Association
13 delegates from Hope Bridge (희망브리지 전국재해구호협회) came to our office last Tuesday, April 23rd. Hope Bridge is a Disaster Relief Association in Korea and has been serving their community since 1961. They reached out to HandsOn Sacramento last month because of their interest in what we do for disaster recovery and relief. HandsOn Sacramento, together with representatives from American Red Cross Gold Country Region and City of Sacramento, introduced the importance of having a VOAD in our community. Also included in the presentations are Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Ministries and Sacramento Medical Reserve Corps. We are grateful to have this exchange of ideas and knowledge on disaster relief and recovery happen.
