Training Center Ribbon-Cutting and Open House, May 30
DEC will celebrate the opening of its new Training Center, 4-6 p.m., Thursday, May 30. The event will include an official ribbon-cutting by Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, building tours, light refreshments and a commemorative booklet for invited guests. Staff are needed to help with greeting guests, giving tours and serving refreshments.
DEC was awarded a grant to increase use of the
PulsePoint app in Richmond. If you are CPR-trained, you can download the free app to be notified when someone nearby has a sudden cardiac arrest. If you are not CPR-trained, you can use the app to register locations of AEDs. Take a screenshot of the app on your phone and
send it to Karen by June 4 to be entered in a random drawing for a gym bag or folding camp chair. Also, DEC and RFD will set up a PulsePoint booth at the June 7 Friday Cheers event, 3:30-10 p.m.
April's #I am Richmond 911 honoree is Deborah Jackson
Congratulations to Deborah Jackson, April's honoree for #IamRichmond911. In addition to making sure that all DEC employees are paid accurately, Deborah educates others on cancer awareness, volunteers at her church and feeds the less fortunate.
Congratulations to Kiondria Johnson, who correctly answered behind the reception desk at the ECC for the previous location of the pictured artwork. The answer could be found on the DEC Flickr site. Kee Kee's entry was chosen at random from all valid entries, and she won her choice of either a wireless charging pad or a power bank as a prize.
