Individual Market Broker News
In response to the COVID-19 public health crisis, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield suspended termination notices and invoicing for individual members scheduled to be terminated in the months of
May. Grace periods for this population were also extended. Beginning mid-May, invoices for approximately 2,500 individual members will begin mailing and these members will be notified of their future termination dates.
Members will be able to retain coverage by paying premiums to date or requesting premium deferral on a case-by-case basis. They can also elect to terminate their policy back to the last date their premium was paid as long as there have been no claims.
