Village Office Services During COVID-19
For the safety of our residents and staff, the Village Office is currently closed to the public. While the office is closed, were are accepting payments for yard waste stickers, permits, court citations and water bills in our drop box located outside the office on the circle driveway next to the tennis courts.

Beginning on Monday, May 4, we will begin offering drive-up service for residents to use. To use this service please call ahead to the office at 262-639-3529 with your request. A Village Staff member will schedule a time for you to pick up your items. At the appointed time, a Staff member will meet you outside the office underneath the blue tent. Payment using the drive-up service should be with a check made out to the Village of Wind Point, or if you are paying cash, please have exact change.

Safer at Home Order Extended
On April 24 the Wisconsin Department of Health Services issued an extension to the original Safer at Home Order. The extension remains in effect until 8:00 am on Tuesday, May 26. Most of the original Safer at Home order remains in effect with the extension. There are a few exceptions to the order that allow libraries to offer curbside pickup and golf courses to open. According to the City of Racine, Shoop Park Golf Course will reopen with limited services after May 15. The Racine Public Library is offering curbside pick up. You can take advantage of the service by calling 262-217-7631 or by going to the Library's online catalog.

In accordance with the State's extension of the Safer at Home order, the Village has extended its State of Emergency until Monday, May 25 at 11:59 p.m. The Village Green playground, tennis courts and pickleball courts will remain closed until this time. The Village is not currently taking rental requests for the Village Green Pavilion or the Lighthouse. The Village Green walking paths and Lighthouse Grounds remain open. If you take advantage of these recreational facilities, please make sure that you are practicing proper social distancing.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time. If you have any questions please contact the Village Office at [email protected] or 262-639-3524.
Building Permit Reminders
If you are planning on doing home improvement work, please check whether your project requires a permit. Home renovation projects require permits be issued before work begins. Although contractors are usually hired to complete the work, it is ultimately the homeowner’s responsibility to ensure that permits were properly obtained prior to starting the work. Fees are doubled for permits obtained after work has started and if work is completed without permits there may be additional penalties. For a list of home projects, and whether they require a permit, please visit the Building Permit page on the Village's website.

Even though the Village Office is currently closed to the public, you can download the permit application from the Village's website here. The completed application can be sent to the Village Office by mail to 215 E. Four Mile Road, Racine, WI 53402, or by using the secure drop-box located outside the Village Office next to the tennis courts.

Payments can be made using cash, check or money order. If you are unsure of how much your permit fee will be, please contact the inspector who will handle your permit. They can help you calculate your permit fee and also answer any questions about the permitting process.

As an alternative to burning, the Village encourages residents to take advantage of yard waste collection services such as John's Disposal's weekly yard waste pick up and the Village's monthly branch collection.
May Branch Collection- Delayed One Week
Due to a scheduling conflict, May branch pickup will be delayed one week. The pick up was originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 12 but will now begin on Monday, May 18.

There is no penalty if you have your branches out by May 12 and there is no need to move your branches from the curb if they are out between May 12 and May 18.
