It is amazing how much life can change in one month.
The entire staff of Center Drug would like to Thank you all for your support this past month.
From your kind words, your friendly phone calls to 'just check on us', to the treats, and the homemade masks that have been dropped off for our staff.
Thank you all!! We are extremely grateful for all of your well wishes and support as we have adapted to a different way of doing business during April.
We also need to really
Thank You
for your ability to adapt to a month of curbside delivery. We know it hasn't always been easy, but Thank you for hanging in there with us.
We are all healthy, and no employees have been ill. We are ready to begin letting our customers back into the store.

We will start accepting customers back into the store starting Monday, May 4th. In order for us to do that, there are some things we need you to do:
* If you are sick, stay home, please don't come into the store. Call us from your car, or home, and we will come to you. We will continue to offer curbside service, home delivery, and mailing as always.
* Curbside service will always be available; however, you will need to call the store and choose option 3 to let us know that you are out front, and we will come to you. We will not be monitoring the parking lot as we have been this past month. Just be aware that if you don't feel comfortable coming into the store, we respect that, and we will come to you.
* When you are in the store, please maintain a social distance of 6 feet from others.
* We encourage you to wear a mask while you are in the store.
* If you need to cough or sneeze, please do so into a bent elbow.
* You will also see that we have installed plexi-glass partitions at all of the cash registers for your safety, as well as ours.
* We are open 8:30am to 8:00pm. Try to shop non-peak hours--either earlier in the morning, or after 6pm if you wish to have a shopping experience with the least amount of people in the store. The peak time for customers in the store is always between 1 to 3pm, and 4 to 6pm. Try to avoid those hours if you are older or immune compromised.
Please take note of what we are doing within the store to keep healthy. Employees are monitoring their own temperatures and will not come to work if they are running a fever, or feel unwell. All of our employees have been doing a great job of 'staying at home' when they are not at work. All work stations (phones, mice, computer keyboards and counters) are disinfected at the beginning and end of each work shift. Only 1 person uses a workstation per shift. We are washing our hands, or using hand sanitizer often. We are maintaining as much distance as we can from each other in the pharmacy given our small workspace. Door handles are disinfected multiple times per day. Shopping cart and basket handles are disinfected after each customer. We are providing masks and gloves for our employees to wear. We encourage our staff to wear masks, but it is not mandatory. Please understand that it is very warm and difficult to wear a face mask for a full 8-10 hour shift, so do not be alarmed if a staff member is not wearing a mask. However, if we come out to speak with you, we will wear a mask and maintain a social distance of 6 feet. Remember, that we are always here to speak with you and answer any questions that you may have, so please don't hesitate to ask or call if you need something.

Guess who is Retiring!
Mary Ann Norling has worked for Hopkins Center Drug for 31 years! She has decided that it is time she retire. We are both happy for her, and sad for us.
Mary Ann works Tuesday's and Thursday's from 9am till 2pm. Her last day is going to be Thursday, May 14th.
Mary Ann has touched so many lives over the years, and is a friend to everyone in Hopkins and the surrounding communities. Whenever Mary Ann would interview potential employees, she would always tell them that they need to have a 'kind heart' to work at Center Drug. Thank you Mary Ann for having the largest, kindest heart in the world! Mary Ann will definitely be missed here at Center Drug.
We are a bit sad because retirement during a pandemic means that we cannot have a big celebration in her honor that she deserves.
If you happen to be in the store in the next couple of weeks, please stop by and wish Mary Ann well--sorry, no hugs right now--we all need to continue to social distance ourselves from each other.
If you are not able to make it in to see Mary Ann--as we are supposed to be staying home for the next few weeks, please consider sending a card to the store to her attention, and we will make sure she gets them!
We love you and will miss you Mary Ann, and we wish you well in your retirement!!!
Address to send cards to:

Allergy Season is back!
Allergy season has definitely arrived! For those of us suffering with allergies, it feels like this season is worst than it has been in the past.
Speak with one of our Pharmacists to find out what would be the best products to treat your symptoms. Our most popular choices are Claritin (loratidine), Zyrtec (cetirizine), Flonase Nasal Spray, and NeilMed Sinus rinse. Most people don't always think of Sinus rinse for allergies, but using a saline sinus rinse on a daily basis is safe and will keep your nasal passages healthy and clean of pollen . OTC Flonase (which is the same strength as the prescription version), when used on a daily basis can relieve nasal congestion, itchy, watery eyes and noses and sneezing. Remember to pick up some Kleenex too!
This year, for those who suffer from itchy, watery eyes we have a new Rx to OTC switch eye drop. Pataday, which used to be prescription only, is now over-the-counter. It is available in two formulations: once a day and twice a day drops.

Mother's Day is just around the corner!
Mother's Day is about a week away. Please stop in and pick up a card for Mom, and check out all the new gifts that Kelsey and Suzy have brought in for spring (while maintaining a proper social distance). All of the garden items are out, and now is the perfect time to pick up a new item or two to jazz up your yard or garden, and lift your spirits as we are all staying close to home these days. If you want us to pick out a Mother's Day card for you, just call and we will be happy to select the perfect card and deliver it to you.

Nebo Flashlight Products
Now that Spring is upon us, it is time to think about gifts for Mom, Dad and Grads! The Inspector is a great light that is just slightly larger than a pen and would be great for Mom to tuck in her purse. Dad's like the Big Larry flashlight and we carry it in both the battery operated style, as well as the rechargeable version.
And for the Grad, the Redline flex is a great option. The Redline flex is a nice light because it can run on either batteries, or is rechargeable (thus the flex option), and it is a small size that is perfect for Dorm life, or to throw in a backpack. The brightness of the light will provide great safety at night on campus.
